it just came off like some generic dj set. after seeing guys like Diplo, Pendulum and Deadmau5 blow the lid off the fucking place he was underwhelming in comparision. the dancing animals were cool though.

Hm, listened to it. It was decent at best. Definately not another downward spiral. Like a combo of with teeth and year zero. Not necessarily disappointed, but some songs don't sound industrial at all, not even industrial rock, more like just a regular alt rock band.

Head Down and Demon Seed are very good tracks though.

Yes, but it's not just CDs, other ats and merchandise is nice.Rare stuff is neato though. Our musicians transcend music and become artifacts, like the cross of JKesus,.

I shot TomFulp a PM asking if he likes old school Industrial, because he likes NIN and I'm sure we'll all jizz ourselves if we find out that he spins TG records.

On the topic of albums, does anyone know when Angelspit's new album comes out? I heard they were working on one, but I didn't get the date.

I know this doesn't have anything to do with industrial music, but I can name a few people who'd be interested by it, and it kind of goes along with the classycore conversation that was going on a while back, but IS THIS FUCKING AMAZING OR WHAT.

It's the songs of German kabarettist Kurt Weill covered by different rock musicians, like Nick Cave, Lou Reed and Elvis Costello, to name a few.

Totally bought that shit.

i have an evil aura because im cool

And Lou Reed was a huge influence on Throbbing Gristle. To the point of one song being a sort of, cover of a Velvet Underground song. Zyklon B Zombie shares many similarities with Here She Comes now, down to a lyrical reference, by admission of Genesis P-Orridge. He even saw himself as just continuing Lou's work.

and Lou has dabled in Noise, but I doubt his song on that comp is Noise.

AXIS IMAGERY IN INDUSTRIAL MUSIC AND YOUR PARENTS

Ever had this? I have had to explain how Laibach were safe, but today, my mum found this.

Fing is, that is pure imagery, there is no reason given or implied, no mission statement and no lyrics, it's a Noise record.

Now, I can only guess that they are trying to shock or take the danger out of swastikas. Now, I can't speak for the band. My argument with my mum centred on "In Nazi Germany, that type of music was outlawed" and when she said she wouldn't allow swastikas in her house, I tried to explain their Hindu origin (my dad interjected calling it Pagan).

Embarrasing. Fuck, my girlfriends great greandmother was IN the holocaust, Ms ZAAL's mum doesn't find Skrewdriver records (which she owns) to be offensive.

having grown up as a jehovahs witness and all, my mom would probably be more offended by a band i listened to that had ex-JWs than a band that uses that kind of imagery (in the faux sense anyways)

like she heard Early Man once and I told her they were ex-JWs and she just kinda scoffed off at it.

and dont even get her started on michael jackson
