The next Hitler

Ok, probably only Australians like myself will get this, because as far as i know Kevin Rudd hasnt gone overseas on politics yet, anyway...

Does anyone else think that if Kevin Rudd wins the election he could become the next Hitler?

I mean look at the facts; 1) he built up his popularity so that about 3/4's of australian voters knew his name before he went for the position as leader of the opposition (something Hitler did to a lesser degree). 2) he's always going on about how he is going to do whats best for the people and how he will do it better than John Howard, but he does it without making political slurs against them (like when he admitted that he probably would have done the same thing when it came to the workplace legislation) (something Hitler also did when there was more than one political party in Germany) 3) he has all of the workers unions on his side (something Hitler had) and 4) a fair few other similarities that i cant remember right now

If anyone else can think of other reasons that i forgot, or if you agree or disagree please post, but as far as i know, only aussies will know what im talking about.

Umm, hitler didn't have the unions in his pocket, he was a rightwinger, and he hated the union parties(like those "vile" social democrats). Read mein kampf or about how the lefties and unions shut the country down and surrendered at the end of ww1 for more info on that.

Being in another country I am largely unaffected by the election and political slurrs that are usually performed by Australian politicians (still reading the news though).

Not being Liberal or Labor this election, I fail to see the link between Hitler and Rudd. There would probably be more of a link to Howard (using fear against other peoples to stir the masses) and he has used Australias military in more countries than any other Prime Minister (that said, he does have that right as he has been in the top job for a VERY long time)

Actually hitler did very well in public school, his dad hoped he would carry on the tradition and become a civil servant. However, he tried to rebel and become an artist, but his "public school" talents were nothing compared to artists that had proper schooling for their craft.

Dude you need to learn a bit more about Iran. The revolutionary guard would not allow Ahmadinejad to become dictator. As far as the jew thing goes, Most people in the middle east hate Israel, including people in Iran. This is because of palestinian oppression. There are many jews that live there(in iran), and they have more rights than people living in the actual dictatorships of Saudi Arabia or Egypt...who happen to be major US allies. Also, Ahmadinejad have not threatened anyone with war, they have threatened to retaliate if anyone makes war with them or attacks them.

Dude, Hitler put gay people in gas chambers, i'm willing to bet you wouldn't have a problem with that! Minorities are only attacked by political parties to gain your vote, maybe you'll realize that before you actually do vote. Hitler completely brought them out of a depression, yes, but he also inadvertedly caused Germany's cities to be completely destroyed, population to be massacred, and half of the country to face a period of no growth for the next fifty years.

Based on the the points you have brought up, i 'm not really savvy as to what is going on in Australia, but it seems to make perfect sense. I think that there may be something else that makes some people have a goal to rule a country or countries, in Saddam's case invading a country in Africa (Can't remember which one at the moment) for oil, or to have a deep hatred for one group of people, even though Germany lost in world war one, that may have been a factor and Hitler chose to take it out on the jewish for some reason. I'm trying to avoid saying it's some mental thing or a gene, but at the time it's the only conclusion I have. Ok, back to the main topic. I agree that it's a possibility, but that is human flaw, to judge someone by their actions and not their true personality. I am not disagreeing or agreeing with your statement, i'm just adding my own opinion.
