Is it money, honesty, virtue, integrity, is this what our fore fathers wanted? If they could see us today what would they say? I am open to all opinions.

A good question mr blonde!
It depends what you mean, a good politition, or a good leader. A good politition is somone who is capable of getting other individuals to support their cause, this usually requires lack of stance on issues and dirt tactics which win the heart of impressionable americans, but usually piss the hell out of americans who are more interested in the issues and not on the crumbling boundary which differentiates between politics and celebrity gossip.
A good polition typically tries to avoid expressing their oppinion due to the fact that any politition know's that americans opinions are very varried, and supporting one issue to highly puts them in a difficult situation, it also creates problems when legislating, good polititions never want to be bound to support one veiw point incase their stuck being pulled between their veiws, their promises, the desire of their party, and the constantl idiotic mubling that goes on between legislators.
They also try to apeal to people's senses, which includes being well dressed, groomed, and presentable, they try to display themselfs as the 'good american' [true or otherwise] which of course is where all of those classical campain gimics that you see in cartoons originate from. [The V symbol which originally meant Victory, then was changed to the Smybol for peace [ironically] then was coined by richard nixon "i am not a crook"]] You also get that common pratice of kissing babies. You try to get people to LIKE you based on your personality.
A good leader is different, and 'good' is very difficult to describe because different leaders legislate to improove the conditions of different groups of people, the best all-around way to make everyone from the lower class to the upper class happier is to improove economy, and their are a great many ways to improove economy with different effects, each changing different aspects of economy, inflation, stock, home ownership and purchase, taxes, commercialism, international trade, industry, jobs, etc. etc.
Each of these economic attributes can positively or negatively effect other attributes, which is why no leader wins full support, because there's always people who are negatively effected. For example, improoving industry helps city folk, but is annoying for farmers, you get the idea.
Politions try to lie to you by saying 'my plan will help everyone ' it's just not true, their plan might be good, it might help many people, but it cant help everyone. A good leader tries to improove the economy of the country in a way that benifits as many people as possible, and with that surplus wealth, spend research in nessesary [and sometimes comically unnessesary] feilds, such as medicine, art communication, education, and sending monkies into space.
On a moving train there are no centrists, only radicals and reactionaries.
people watn a politition to fix everything thats wrong with society within that particular polititions jurisdiction
C'mon after so many corruption topics I'm sure more people would like to post their feeling on politicians. :)

people typically like to post more on threads which people make stupid points because they're easier to debate.
