Damn Lyddiechu, you're new here but you already have that typical anti-vegetarian attitude that is so common on this forum. I'm a lonely idealist here. :'(

<Sigh> I've already tried to convince the stubborn people around here that it's eating meat that's not natural, so i gues it's pointless to go discuss this any further. And i don't need any amino acid supplements or multivitamins, or b12 pills or any of that other crap. I can get all that from normal food, thank you very much.

muahaha... i gotta admit to you veggie.. faux beef tastes really great.. but i just can't give up the animal.

seriously though.. if you are vegetarian for moral reasons (don't like the way animals are penned up etc etc PETA BULLSHIT I FUCKING HATE YOU PETA YOU FUCKING TERRORISTS WHO GIVE ENVIRONMENTALISTS A BAD NAME!!!!) ahem sorry

where was i again?? oh yeah, if you are veggie for moral reasons like those listed before you should try free-range meat. it DOES taste better. once when I was in new zealand i was staying in the countryside and ate the best lamb of my entire life. i realized it came from the flock that was grazing outside... delicious..

also the best poultry i ever had was a rooster from my nanny's farm in ohio that we went out and killed and plucked ourselves..

no one can ever accuse me of being a pussy meat eater. its still appetizing to me mooing and looking at me with those big lovely brown eyes.

What is more moral, eating a plant, that cant defend itself, enjoy life, or fight back, or eating an animal that at least has a chance of running away? They are both living things that dont want to die. The only real difference is that an animal has a way to express the sentiment, while the plant must bear the atrocity in silence.

There is nothing wrong with being a vegetarian. Although I am not one myself, I respect anyone's choice to become a vegetarian. So stop being a Jackass and insulting others, you bastard?

And how can you say PETA gives environmentalists a bad name. They pretty much examplify environmentalists.

And by the way, exactly how are the people from PETA terrorists? Last time I checked they did not send bombs strapped to hampsters during the 9/11 bombings or send parrots to infiltrate the White House or the Pentagon. Just wondering

That's a fine looking piece of crap you just pulled up there. Those animals are unable to run away or fight back, they are in eeny weeny little barns were they can't move an inch. And plants don't have nerves or anything, so they don't have any feelings either.

hey, I'm all for free range meat. It keeps the animal leaner and more muscular, thus improving the overall nutritiousness and flavor of the meat. Anyways, how do you know the plants arent afraid to die? I mean, just because they dont have vocal chords doesnt mean they they wouldnt fight back if they could. Why else do onions release eye-irritating toxins, and beans and nuts grow hard cases? Because they dont want to be eaten anymore than animals do, but lack the capability for immediate defense.

Of course those plants don't want to die. They have indeed some kind of survivor instinct like you mentioned. But the thing is, those plants don't have feelings. They have no nerves, so you don't hurt them in any way. I don't see killing a plant as a real murder. An animal do has feelings, therefore it's not right to kill it.

:an animal does not have feelings, it is not sentient... i have no problem eating it. heck i would even eat a sentient being if it willingly gave itself up to die for food and i wouldnt get some terrible neurological disease from it... of course animals can't volunteer one way or another, but it doesn't matter since they don't have a higher consciousness. delicious.

as for PETA, they are notorious for openly funding enviroterrorists..people who destroy property and life in the name of envionmentalism.. also take a look at PETA's latest campagin "holocaust on your plate".. it may not be terrorism but it really is the most ridiculously offensive (and not in some cool, dadaist art constructive kind of way) propaganda i have ever seen.

you can be a veggie, its ok.. it just means more meat for my personal consumption. i just think its a bit foolish...

then again if you are veggie because your religious beliefs dictate that you are not allowed to harm any living being EVER, well.. that's different. everyone has the right to believe whatever they want.. no matter how ridiculous that belief is.

on a religious note, veggie.. kosher butchers are mandated by jewish law to slaughter the animal without it suffering.. in fact i am fairly sure that the animals have to be raised in a certain way so that they do not suffer physical pain throughout their existence. so, if you can't get free range meat, just go to your local kosher butcher instead!

Personally, i think its great that you chose not to eat meat. What i dont like is that you try and turn people into vegetarians. I onced tried to not eat meat for a while, i didnt work.

MURDERER! MURDERER! Those plants have feelings! They may not be able to scream, but they would if they could!

Thats like saying cannibalism is wrong, but eating old people who cant talk or get out of the wheel chair is OK. Just admit that animals and plants are lesser life forms, and that a humans have the God given right to kill and eat them at our leisure. Morals my ass, veil tastes good.

Plants would NOT scream if they could, because they have NO nerves, and therefore feel NO pain, neither physically nor mental. Therefore it's OK to eat plants, but it's NOT OK to eat animals! stop repeating yourself because you force me to do also!

and you know that because? plants are different but they have nerves, DNA, and even communication(through some sort of carbon dioxide signaling other plants can detect). but yeah they can feel themselves being ripped apart alright

exactly, my invalid in a wheelchair analogy. Plants are disabled in the fact that they just cant defend themselves like animals can. But what is more immoral, killing a grown man who can fight back, or killing elderly person or an invalid, incapable of defense, and unaware of the danger? Vegetarianism on a moral standpoint is hypocritical because of this argument. Poor little veggies, you should be ashamed.

However, all of this is way off topic, so I'm gonna start a vegitarian thread.

No, it's because plants don't have vocal chords that they don't scream when you rip them from the ground.

Neither do lobsters, by the way, so that sound when you boil them isn't them screaming, OK?!?
