This is the normal progression of the typical political thread:

1. Someone states an opinion/news article/ or something blatently ridiculous.

2. People comment about how crazy this world is.

3. A few people make comments about how to solve this problem.

4. Liberals take pot shots at conservatives and try to blame them for everything.

5. Conservatives do the same thing in retaliation.

6. Canadians, British, and people from third world countries enter the fray and talk about how much better thier country is then America and claim how they have no blame in anything thats going on in the world... its all America's fault...

7. Point by point country comparisons span for about two pages.

8. Someone attempts to return to the original topic.

9. He/she fails.

10. By now the words "Nazi" "traitor" "racist" along with too many swear words to count have gone back and forth.

11. The original topic has been completely forgotten.

12. People leave with views more extreme then when they started posting

13. 5-7 other people start threads almost identical to the original thread, and continue the process there.

14. Mods lock 1-4 of these off-shoot threads.

15. Debate starts all over again on new thread (with same topic as before). Process resets. Wash, rinse, repeat.

17. When someone comments on religion, it's always Christiainity that there talking about. Don't be fooled, Christianity is the only religion.

The USA never saved our countries ass. Hitler would never have invaded Canada had he defeated Russia, he tried to negotiate peace with the west for the last 4 years of the war. The USA gave him the beats only because they wanted a winner takes all kind of war. Fortunately their prize has started to unravel, and China is on the rise.

Did they let you out of the home for the day? America gave billions of dollars to Europe to fight the Germans. They also risked their lives in the millions to try and solve the conflict in Europe. Oh and another thing. If they hadn't of bothered (which would have made your day) then the Red Army would have crushed Europe with ease. Only an American presence stopped that.

1. The billions they gave was actually loaned, and then forgiven after the war. The USA made tons of money though.

2. I never said anything about the Cold War or the post ww2 situation.

Also, i don't see what your problem is, there's no need to insult me especially when you go on to talk about something completely different than what i was saying. I was talking about the why, not the what.

in all honesty if you try and refute that we saved your ass you are ungrateful, yes we did not want to join in the fun and figured you could take care of yourselves if we supplied you like ww1 but when it became evident that you and Russia were about to be speaking German we figured it was time for the Undefeated champion's of the world to step in. lol OK I watched some WWE recently . But fact is we took charge and LEAD EVERY MAJOR AND SUCCESSFULL CAMPAIGNE all the way to the eagles nest baby. HOORAH!!!

I also have two grandfathers who fought in WW2. I am gratefull for all the British, all the commonwealth, all the american and everyone else who fought in WW2, And they did fight to save us. But America wasn't the only one.

Russia actually was already advancing and getting the better of the germans before America joined.

Britain had won the battle of britain and had started carrying out extensive raids on Nazi cities. Hitler had given up any attempt at invading britain and had moved on to Russia. All before America joined the war.

So no america didn't save 'our asses' Neither Russia or Britain were anywere near speaking german.

The Naval campain in the Atlantic and Med was primary British. As was SE Asia and Africa.
The Western Front and the Italian Campain were 50/50 Anglo-American

Even in the Pacific there was a large imput from the commonwealth.

So Seeing as The British Commonwealth easily did as much as the US on the offensive, how do you even contemplate America 'savin our asses'

19. Someone rides in on their white horse to call the posters "hacks", "crazy" and/or retarded. Claiming that they need to get over themselves, while all the while they have only scanned the posts without actually reading everything that has been written.

20. Someone even more arrogant, who probably belongs to a secret society, then points out that this guy is in fact what he is bitching about. Subtle flame war ensues.

21. If the topic is not linked to Bush, it is linked to WWII and two people from different countries begin debating whose grandfather can piss further...

That's eerie, I recall reading something exactly like that on the third and fourth pages of the Pelosi thread, except the flame war had yet to fully commence. Can't seem to remember who were involved in it, though...
