What's with these people in your drawings? They're all stiff as a board. And it would be nice if you had more influences, outside animation in general. Any specific people? Artforms? Not styles, you shouldn't be influenced by only one force, it limits your abilities and potential as an artist. Read some books about different artforms and go to an art museum, you can be influenced by all kinds of things by doing those things. I know this works because I've been to an art museum, and I've read books on sculpting, abstract art, popart, stylization (in terms of more angular characteristics), medieval art, graffiti art, I have all kinds of influences. Do this and your artistic ability will improve, as well as your creative thinking. Good luck to you in the future.

Theyre stiff? Well i like posing people and stuffs but i didnt think all of them were stiff xD So far im walking in one direction. I dont feel like im ready to take on every aspect of art yet, altho it wouldve been an enormous benefit for me to know it all inside out(which wouldve made me the perfect artist). But i do read about art styles and techniques sometimes, thats why my skills have gone thru a rapid change lately. Such things will sometimes take time to improve from a time to another i guess. In other words, i will get into some of your examples lil by lil, and then we'll see xP So far im influenced by human anatomy mixed with stylish look(anime and such), and a lil cartoony addon to make it more lively. I went to the national museum and saw the "Scream" painting and other works by Edvard Munch. I could see the feelings surrounding the character, but i was still not influenced... oh well, i will find my interests at such stuffs one day. I just need to use my time to make my current skills flow like a stream before jumping on another boat. But thanx for the examples, ill keep them in mind!^^

And this sketch is a dedication to Madeleine McCann(the abducted girl in Portugal). I even made a dedication thread to her where people could make art dedications, but there wasnt shown any much interest, altho there was mostly talk. Meh... anyways my tribute to Madeleine.

Another sketch ive made, just another Wonchop tribute. In my prev tribute, i accidentally drew him with 3 fingers(that was embarrasing). So i made a correction, by making a new tribute. Hes wearing no jacket, only his t-shirt and his hair neck is now all over xP

looking nice...
now get some shadin in there.... show the face`s mass... it`s convex and concave areas.... shadows and light.... that kind of stuff....
i`d suggest duplicating the basic color blocking layer ( for safekeeping) , hiding one and using the burn tool to shade.... set down to 10- 15% opacity.... and higlight with the dodge tool....adjust with smudge and soften tool ( careful not to take away the texture)
otherwise get a soft low opacity brush ( possibly fuzzy) and start shading with a darker and more saturated tone.... and higlighting with a lighter tone, same brush. maybe use a couple more tones like various shades of darker colours... adjust with smudge and soften tools... and for the final touches burn in the darker shadows with the burn tool and add some tiny tiny highlights with the dodge tool.
try it.. if you need anything dont hesitate to ask. ;D

Well errr... :P
It kinda depends y'know, at my situation, mood, satisfaction and stuff. I like doing random stuffs, but i would feel uncomfortable if anyone would rmake a nsfw request. But sure, i would like to do requests, as long as there arent too many of them xP Recently, ive been caught up with major finals, exams. I havent gotten time to sketch and stuff, hopefully ill be free this summer. I just cant wait until im thru with college soon :D
So err... you wanted to make a request or what? xP

well can you do a pic of rikku from final fantasy 10-2? How come you dont want to do nsfw pics is there somewhere you stop at a certain area where it comes to stop at nudity?
Hehe it just bothers me, and the thing is also that there are folks in my house walking in and out of my room(because my room is like trapped between 2 other bedrooms -_-). Another reason for not making nsfw is that im a muslim, i fear that i would be aroused by making nsfw pics. I dont mind people making them, but i dont wanna do it myself... well, unless i personally like the specific stuffs or only if there are humorous reasons behind it. I simply dont like drawing nudity(nude genitals, xxx poses etc) and such things that would turn female individuals into sex objects.
But hey, Rikku sounds okay, so why not? ^^ It might take some time, as im usually busy with fuzz from college, and from the family as well ^_^; But alright, ill keep it in mind, ill sketch her as soon as im clear from everything else ;P

Here is the finished off request PrinceFlea, just as you asked :P
Gah, you can see the dots and the crap being on the pic. Thanks to my eraser, the pic got fucked up and smudged all the crap all over it when i was erasing some few mistakes. Meh... that got me ticked off for hours while i was sketching, so you might find some proportions being off. Im gonna seriously burn that shit eraser and buy myself a new one soon. Lol.
Anyways, this is Rikku from Final Fantasy. I hope youre happy with it PrinceFlea xP

Sorry, i dont have any tutorials, at all o.o Ive just watched and learned from err... lots of stuffs that i dont remember right now ^_^; But theres this one tutorial that helped me a lot to develop anime the way i wanted, and thats Matt's Anime Tutorial . Im rather focused on:
- how males should look like
- how females should look like
- what known body areas that should go along with the rest of the body
- how much thickness/details i should add on certain areas
- how big/slim the character is, then think logical how much mass the character should consist of
- which areas its possible to bend/stretch, for example an elbow or a knee
Lol big boobs and ass... might get heavy there, but surely not a bad idea as in common thinking XD *drool*

Hammi,i know you mean to draw like this but...your drawing are always abit to simple and whats with this hole thing where all the lines are joined.I say stop the computer for about a week and get out a drawing pad,do very fast drawings of stuff (REAL life stuff) and NOT cartoony then try NEW styles...keep doing it.

Hehe i see. Neither do i, but its okay sometimes to draw something new and challenging. Who knows, maybe i will learn shading properly one day after going thru numerous requests. And i KNEW i could do BETTER when i drew her arm, but somehow i failed there at that point. Anyways thanx for backing up, that means much for me^^

I cant say that you havent bothered trying on it at least Why would you get so worked up on a couple mistakes anyway?
Well... a couple of mistakes... are enough to make me unsatisfied and eventually upset. I feel like a failure when i do mistakes. Yeah i do get upset, but ill bite in the sourness and learn from it. I wont fall down again... not like last time. I will fight, even if it takes months... and maybe years. NG has taught me something that ill remember thru my whole life, and i owe back for it.

HOLY... SMOKE OF SHIT!! That pic nearly gave me a heartattack. WOAH. What the hell.............. AWESOME SHADING! :D Youre really good at Photoshop. Its so awesome, that i saved it. Simply amazing. I cant believe that you took your time to color and shade it from scratch. Im amazed. I love it. KICKASS. And about your advices, ive been out on a bench for 4 hours, and i couldnt decide what to draw... there was too much details xD I think im closing in for a decision to make a real life pic... after all my requests and the projects are over, God help me xD
Sorry for responding after a long time, but ive been into work lately for summerjobs. I think im getting really rusty with my skills... ugh. Gotta work it out with the pencil again.

Thanks hammi,i know that it is hard. But for your first try just try getting nice loose lines, try
just making a few lines.Make sure that there is the least lines as possible,by making long and curved lines.
Then go on to detail,i suggest you do not do shading for now.Just do rough lines to just plan
it out...use a pointy pencil.
Then shading,do not lean hard on your pencil. And make sure its not to pointy, now you haved
pick a object.Try picking a easy one with a small amount of shading like...
A bowling ball!.
Make sure that you get a nice view of it.
Hope you practice!.

I'M FREAKIN' OUT!!
So many tings to take care of, so many art stuffs to do for requests and projects, too little time... im gonna lose control. A quick sketch under 20 minutes, expressing my situation. Better than mashing everything else that is my property in anger and frustration eh? xP

Bah... of fucking hell i tried. This is the mascot entry for the ZelloMesh mascot competition. I rushed it... and my pencil turned thick as i was doing my last touches, as you prolly see. Not satisfied with this one either. I was originally thinking of sketching a crew, but ive wasted too much time on developing a single character. His name is Pizo btw. Say hello.
