Because i realized shortly after doing this that i could do better. And i dont like the hatching in this either. I wanna do better than this, i just gotta give myself some more time (and try not to waste time at the same time). Im also doing some heavy studies in some areas in art. I need to get the most out of my sketchbook too in order to improve.

Oh well im pretty much dead on inside so whats the difference. Ive caused so much shit to happen lately, and right now im better off just... being out of peoples sight. Ive done more than enough damage for myself and for others. Ehrm... sorry about that rant. Anyways yeah just wanted to post SOMETHING so that people know im still around. :)

Im announcing my resignation from the art forum. Theres no longer any purpose for me to stay here. Im fed up with everything.

So will Miss ReNaeNae please come over here and lock this thread? Its gotten gay enough as it already is.

Im sure it wont take long before everybody has forgotten all about this. Not like anyone would mind either because im expendable. So im just gonna go and die off in the dust. Hammi is history. Ciao.

Yeah I read your news post. You have your reasons and you can do as you choose.
But something you should think about is the people here you've met. If it weren't for your artwork and helpful comments, you would've never crossed paths with each other. To me, that's a scary thought.

Sometimes art means more than trying to grab people's attention. Although it's probably a good feeling to know that you're being appreciated by many, sometimes drawing is done just for the sake of drawing. And you post it just because you feel like it. You may not get lots of feedback. But you still get some feedback and you use it to help yourself get better. :P

I don't get much attention either, but that doesn't really matter to me as much. I've met so many great people through the forums to help me get better, and I'm pretty damn happy that there's someone here to help me out when I need it! I'm including you too Hammi, I'm always happy to see the comments you leave. :)

But everyone has different views; to each his own, and you can think whatever you want.

I'm just going to let you know that a lot of people are going to be upset of your leave. (I can tell just by reading off of poor ReNaeNae up there...)
Even if you leave NG, please don't stop drawing!

If you leave that's up to you, but if you're feeling overwhelmed or underappreciated sometimes just taking a break from the forum for a couple of weeks or even a few months can really rejuvinate your interest.

The Art Forum Awards are just meant to be a fun diversion, there isn't any real meaning to them. Over my years in the various NG forums I've learned that peoples memories are pretty short and that they tend to vote based only on the previous few weeks. When I decided to have a forum award vote for 2007 I really never expected anyone to take the results to heart.

One final thing; people don't care about the fuck-ups you make, not really. Everybody does it, everyone makes mistakes and posts stuff they wish no one could go back and read or see. I have hundreds, if not thousands, of posts I wish I never made here, but people don't care, they don't hold that stuff against you. I am certain that the people here in the Art Forum have an overall positive impression of you, as a nice and helpful poster, an improving artist and a good friend.

Hammi, your best works come from the charactures. They're detailed and definetly have a certain livelyness to them. The bad part is that many of these works seem lacking. They could use color and backgrounds.

You need to draw scenes with some kind of action or movement to really harness the power of your drawing style. Your style is sharp, pointy curves, and high contrast in terms of shading. That kind of thing is perfect for capturing a DRAMATIC moment. Kind of like Baroque art (I shall award myself the pompuss ass badge for the name drop =P )!

Hammi, you're very good. What you need to do is start kicking it up with some new techniques. experimental perhaps? Keep the style, but introduce more complicated scenes (color is optional). I enjoyed finally looking at your art work. You did not disappoint me.

No point in quitting. Lol.

I mean, it's Newgrounds. Legit threads are always bumped off by dick threads and other ridiculous shit like that. But that's just something you learn to accept eventually.

People will miss your art. My best advice would be to keep posting art here, as well as an alternative (preferably smaller) forum where you can get C&C. That way, you can get the Comments and Critique you need as an artist while we still have the pleasure of viewing your art.

hammi ive seen your art from the beggining of this forum to the end of it and youv came a long way i just didnt know you were a quiter im mean really you went all emo on us and your right even though you have inspired many including my self we all dont care bout you >:/ your an idiot open your eyes this thread is 17 pages long all filled with compliments on your drawings and ng users worshiping you if your really giving up on this than im truly disapointed in you and you should be ashamed of yourself!

Seeing as you may not come back here for a while on the art forum and let me say " happy Several hour belated birthday Hammi".You've made the wrong mistake not just by giving up on your own personal dreams but at the same time letting down many of your friends and fans that you've got over the years and it's all of that Drama that you've been handing down since the end of 2008 and on going 2009.
I know how you where feeling honestly through your recent responses because you have been acknowledging that you were growing relunctant towards the forum a sense of Obscurity that is growing with all off the new names that gone to claim there own fame and popularity the need of getting recognized is quite normal but you've got to realize that it's really all in your head. You've got to keep practicing and change up a few things if you want to make it.

Ya I think Im kinda done here as well, So I will be overriding rae and Bmk, and locking this thread.

I think I speak from everyone here in the art forums in saying we've done more than our share in trying to encourage you. If you aren't at the level you want to be then that's nobody's fault but your own.
