Is it just me or are there alot of right wingers on this website? Or, because this is an american forum, are the very rightist views presented an accurate reflection of US public opinion?

No, the right-wingers are just very vocal on the Politics forum.

The real ratio of Democrats to Republicans is either roughly equal or slightly n the Democrats favor.

That's somewhat a microcosm of America these days, I guess.

This is where we run into a problem. You see, this is newgrounds. I know it might seem like most people on here are well-informed intelligent individuals but in reality, that probably isn't true.

However, we do have younger members who are very idealistic and let's face it, stupid. Thus they will probably left-leaning.

Then we have a lot of cranky, arrogant jerks on here as well. These people tend to lean towards the right.

What I would like to see is a more moderate majority, but that's never the case. It's all or nothing in the Western world when it comes to politics.

How do you explain me, then? You can't simply categorize people into grandiose classifications because you believe that your idealogy is more correct than theirs. It's a rather closed-minded thing to do, and although it may seem trivial and unimportant to you right now, but if everyone starts to think in this manner, it causes racism and intolerance on a global scale

I watch the History channel often. I've written award-winning essays on Politics & History. I am also fairly left-leaning. What does that make me?

Then you have people like Begoner and Bcdemon

Funny how you neglected to mention Memorize and his legion of loyal fans, who regularly troll the politics forum, and incite as much flame-bating as Begoner, who, while admittedly uninformed, at least tries to make a point without calling someone "idiot" or "dumbass" every other sentence in order to "enhance" their points.

Most people are copy and pasters. They often cite Wikipedia as their ultimate source.

This is Newgrounds, okay? Half of us came here looking for flash movies about farts and boobs. I don't know how the other half came here, but the point stands: We're all morons.

Yeah, it seems to me that alot of the "right wingers" are very angry people, and the lefties seem like pretty happy people. Perhaps the development of the ego has alot more to do with Political Affiliation than i've previously imagined. I guess it would explain a few things, either way.

well, to me anyway, the right wingers seem to be more on the baited attack method. draw in the people then attack any opposition with brutal, sychronised attacks.

and im not too sure of the rest of the left, but i TRY (but not very successfuly) to put my point across without insulting anyone... but the right are like virual landmines. set one of and the rest fallow.

They're actually a higher ratio of liberals on this forum. The dems just make a big deal about cellardoor, memorize and me. It's kinda like how they moan about Fox the most, despite its partisanship is no more than the next station's.

We're morons because by not venturing elsewhere for our fill of wind-breaking titty movies & games, most of us have succumb to the subliminal messages contained within getting us to vocally support the War in Ira..

The reaosn why there aren't as many Democrats is because this is a forum with at least a moderate amount of intelligent people. They are actually informed about world history and politics, not just what they hear on regular news stations. Anyone with a real knowledge of history is bound to be a right winger.

I'm in my final year of my politics degree (going on to a masters next year) and have a very very good grounding in history, yet I'm way to the left. Care to explain that oh sacred oracle of politics? Or is it the case that you're actually more ignorant than you're willing to admit?

Or is it the case that I've had a few drinks, am quite bored and didn't like the tone of a 14 year old on an internet site?

Maybe it's both.

Alot of young people tend to side with left-wingers. I wouldn't necessarily say that liberals are less informed. My teacher has a PhD in American History and still leans to the left. There are intelligent and uninformed people on all sides of the political spectrum.

Dude, wtf are you talking about Bolo =D Catagorizing political ideology by demographics is done all the time. People who are more broadly educated are often more leftist, poor people are bound to be more conservative, and artists are bound to be more liberal. Believe it or not the world isn't going to end with catagorization ;)

It's more we're willing to say what we think despite it being offensive or against current trends. From that people make a big stink about us conservative meany heads and it turns into 4-5 page threads that get alot of attention. The conservatives are more likely to put out an opinion come back and defend it and that gets the ball rolling for an interesting thread, rather then just putting your opinion out there and letting it sit and die. I'm sure you could put up some polls on various liberal/conservative topics and find theres actually about a 70/20/10(10 being moderates) ratio if not more. It's just that conservatives present themselves, make there presence known and grab attention because largely that's the only way to be heard and have a discussion. We have to bait you out of one sided arguments to even out the field.

Our growing dependence on laws only shows how uncivilized we are.

My father, an intelligent man educated at the University of California at Berkeley, who received his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. there, is very liberal - I'm ready for the flames about how liberal UC Berkeley is, like I haven't heard it before.

Because being upset with being lied to by your government is whining.

"Oh poor me, our government is abusing it's citizens' trust and it's officials are using underhanded tactics for their own personal gain." Suck it up you cry babies, you're only being lied to by people you trusted enough to put into power. I mean if someone was burning a flag in front of you; then you'd have the right to be upset.

The government isn't doing anything for you to be bitching about. All you are is a group of people looking for a reason to be angry and get of work for the day to protest. You are weak. You are pathetic. You are more than willing to lose any battle. You treat serious criminals in this country better than innocent people in others who are constantly oppressed. You whine about the "torture" when just a few decades ago would have been considered an excellent way of interrogation and a common practice. You believe people should not have the right to defend themselves when someone breaks into their homes, yet seem to believe an insurgent, suicide bomber deserves human rights. You protest the most. You cry the most. You bitch the most.

Nowadays in America, people aren't feeling very Republican right now. If you have seen the problems that Bush has created then you would know why. A short list:
1. Debt
2. American Reputation
3. Iraq

People are just happy to get a Democrat back in office, seeing as with Clinton, we had a surplus.

The republicans are less vocal because they may be ashamed of their choice for president.

I think it's sucky that republicans didn't keep congress/senate, and are going to lose the presidency too. They were driving the USA into the hands of the IMF which would've made sure your government never caused trouble around the world again by totally wasting your military finances and insane protectionist tarriffs.
