I have a basic body so far... muscles shaded from a certain point and all that good stuff. My only issue is .... its a sasquatch. How does one draw fur and shade small faces in photoshop? brush sizes, typeand examples would be appreciated.

The quick way is to add a Noise Filter to the coloured area you want fur on, and make it Gaussian and Monochromatic.
Then add a motion blur, radial or smudge it.
Or you could make a thin custom brush with several different shaped hairs, and scatter.

Shading face? Shade with a slightly soft brush, depending on your style, and maybe smudge.
