LITTLE KNOWN FACT: I drink when I animate. I also barely sleep. These two things combine into a rather formidable concoction.

Anyone else (21 and up in the U.S., 18 and up in Europe, or like...5 and up in Australia) drink when they draw?! If not, what's your distraction of choice? For Christ's sake, you must tell me.

I haven't animated in over 2 years now.

It wasn't a request. It was a demand with a timer attached. Be careful you don't get Ultimate Power'ed in the face.

Gahh, same-minute post! Must break curse, must respond immediately...!

A lot of people animate because they like doing it. I hate animating :O Well, not so much now as when I first started. I just liked expressing strange ideas. Maybe you need the right inspiration (beware: cliche) ?

I go on spouts of inspiration and get half assed animations in return.

I need an inspirational brick to the head, that's what I need.

Well, at least you are good at it. Does the booze help or hurt your skills?

Personally, I don't draw too much. To tell you the truth, I pretty much stopped drinking after I left college. Maybe I should just go on a bender one day and see what happens!

I mainly drink to have fun, and help myself seem like a more interesting person.

I never drink to enhance my productivity, as it usually makes me screw things up more.

Aci6 - Believe me, that was envy talking on my part. Australians are lucky they haven't had an alcohol prohibition in their country. Granted, the up-side is that the American movie industry benefits from Italian Mafia stories, but I'd rather be drinking than watching Goodfellas, if I can be totally honest.

Kolohe - Well, practice is what heads skill progression. Hooch gets me motivated, but it doesn't really add to any real skill other than my attention span (hmm...should have added that to Blockhead: The Game...)

rusty-armour - My liver and I are divorced. Livers are for cowards anyway.

Insert-Pie - I certainly don't scriptwrite whilst intoxicated, so the creative process is untainted by booze. But monotony is that much more awesome when you're not paying attention due to a beverage/substance of choice, as the most menial task seems important! This includes long, long hours of frame-by-frame betweening...

I get fuckin' suave when I drink. Rich New York accent (which I don't have), funny dialogue that isn't in the form of lame jokes, (which I don't have) a greater understanding of people's emotions, (which I don't have,) and an alteration of a British oxford accent and an affinity for philosophical debate, or at least queries, which the morons gain interest in because of the "big words" (yep, don't have it).

Point taken, I am much more interesting, yet equally as bored, person with five shots of Jack Daniels in me.

So much life lost and created during that time.

Mostly life lost on the animators part though.

I truly understand why you drink during these times, especially after working on a feature length film for a project and oh the hours upon days upon weeks spent with long restless nights, eyes burning from the light of the screen and lack of sleep.

Truly times of pain, and reason for my two years of absence after life was drained out of me.

Your drinking sounds like Ali G/Borat combined with Sacha Cohen himself: intelligence and mock intelligence together in a concoction as deadly as my drinking + sleep deprivation.

Speaking of Borat, the guy who played his manager "Azamat" is going to be in a movie called "South of Pico". Heh...Pico. Heh...coincidence with a dash of full-circle irony.

This is not a bump, but it is most definitely a double-post. I challenge anyone to state otherwise.

I am reaching maximum intoxication. Blood-alcohol levels reaching dangerously safe yet dangerously awesome levels. I don't know who invented Miller Lite, but if his last name is/was Miller, then I say to him now: "Mr. Miller, thank you, and screw you, for what you've given me."

As an American glutton, I love that I have to drink three times as much water-thin beer as an Englishman to become intoxicated. In America, we work hard AND we play hard. The problem is that we often get them confused.

I can never have enough paisence to make an animation. Let alone make one when drunk. Only if I really badly want to make it. It's just so much of a pain to do frame by frame animation. Even if I fill it with motion-tweens, it's nothing but a pain.

When I get drunk, I can go into loads of different moods. Sometimes I feel like shit, sometimes I feel giddy, I've even felt philosical (sp?) one or twice acording to people.

Swallow your sugar pills, inject your saline, breath in some hydroxide mist and have a nice day.

Isn't the law like in the U.S....?

In Australia its legal for kids over the age of 5 to drink if their parents allow it and if only they're in the company of them, it differs in states though, such as they are allowed to drink on pub premises if they are allowed by their and the parents own the pub in South Australia.

In America, left-wing people who purportedly don't love their country are typically labeled as "hippies".

In Australia, they are labeled as "you". Way to ruin your country, patriot. Are you even old enough to fight in your armed services? Let alone vote? Let alone drive? This topic is not for you.

Freely search the forums for a topic relating to the keyword "pampers", scumbag child.

Right now i dont have the privilege to drink, Im too tired.

But fuck, it's impossible for an animator not to drink while animating, at least once in a while.

It's like....ah fuck forget it, im too lazy to explain.

But you know what's even more precious than alcohol? Cigarettes. I still cant understand or believe how someone can animate without a fucking cig in the whole night.

Too all those animators without a cig, FUCK YOU.
