You could have done an exact count by using the profile search.

ah yes... the profile search. forgot about that, it has been disabled for such a long time... besides this says nothing about the BBS users because not everyone who has a profile is actually active in the BBS.

To do a decent average, you need some extremes. The oldest bbs users I can think of (I hope they don't mind me mentioning them) are JudgeDread at 30, and ReconRebel at even more than that (assuming he is lying). And Everyone knows that bullypunk is 12, so he is probably the youngest.
33 is the default age, so don't trust profiles which state their age as 33.
