Another low scoring day, but great jobs by all. Congrats!
First time Xombie hasn't won Weekly User's Choice.
It used to take weeks before Xombie would drop below 4.50. Also missed Review Crew Pick (which has only happened once or twice before). Maybe James Farr will take the hint.
And before anyone says "That's only because Animator vs Animation II scored so much higher". True. But Xombie is already down to 4.27. Usually he has mass amounts of fans rallying to vote him to the top each week. He usually scores up above 4.60 and doesn't take a hit till it spends a few weeks at top of the portal.
And check his review score. 8.42? Xombie has never been this low.
The sell-out and tossing the fans without money into the garbage has definitely hurt Xombie.

I noticed that too. :P This would be the first time Xombie would miss Weekly User's Choice and second time it missed Review Crew Pick (Xombie 5 is a wierd case) I agree with you that the ad and shit really hurt the movie.
Maybe the voting system will be improved with the new layout. Don't know how, but to make things a bit more fair.

The voting system has served Newgrounds just fine for years. There's nothing wrong with it.
Sure, there are issues of downvoting, but those can't really be fixed. And I've constantly (and am still) experiencing people who daily downvote my movies. There's nothing you can do about them. Just wait for them to get a life.
Final Adventure was great! I dont know why that stupid 8bit movie got 1st.

well , use your brain,
that might tell you why, this won a daily, i love sprites but i hate "mario"flashes

Final Adventure is a textbook example of above-par animation being dragged down by poor writing, coupled with atrocious acting and recording quality. Unfortunate, because the whole animation's so heavily driven by its dialogue.
Polished in those areas, it could pretty easily be riding a 4.00+ score, but as it is now, its overall presentation falls well short of what its trying to achieve.

Casting director, semi-retired from online voice acting. Sorry folks! You can still hear me in TOME, Reincarnation, and Wonders of the Universe!
Could see that "Animator vs. Animation II" was going to take Review Crew and Weekly first. Xombie missed out, it was short though, I haven't watch any of the others to be honest :S

I haven't seen most of the others either. It seems once a series gets in full swing, it's hard to follow it the whole way through (especially if you discover it when it's at the midpoint stage).
"Animator vs. Animation II" outdid the latest "Xombie" probably because it focused on originality and not on advertisement promos.
The deeper you delve, the more strategizing is involved.
Hehe, I got a kick out of Ascension to Funklord, thanks to some good voice acting and well handled sprite animation.
So much Xombie bashing going on. I'm sitting this one out. xD
Yay for On the Moon getting third.
*support flag*
I'd have to agree with Sqeakytoad about that down voting thing. it's very unjustly that even though people think it shouldn't be #1, doesn't mean it isn't good.
Take "What is Love?" for example. It was number one for a while, with a record score, (at that time) of 4.31. Haters started to vote it down, and that's just not right. I feel though people's overlooking the skill, and time that goes into this flash.
It's really been a battle for the portal, Final Fantasy A+, Metal Gear Awesome, Bitey of Brackenwood, and There She Is! are all competitors. It's a matter of the willingness of fans to win.
I hope Animation vs Animation isn't effected by these 0 voters.
Well, amazing flash submissions go to the top of the portal every week almost, bu they are always voted down and submissions like the YuYu and There she is! Go back to the top. Why is this exactly? Is it because nothing will ever beat the usually number one submissions?

This is because once something hits top50 the only thing that can make it stay there is if everyone votes five. Even a four will lower it. Not many people on Newgrounds realise this and some only give rare stuff like Yuyu a five - which is partial stupidity on there part.
And the stuff that came in this week were far far from amazing quite terrible imo.
Hhhhmmmmm..... yeah, the thing is, I rarely vote on anything thats already passed judgement.

...4.31 isn't a record score. Not only that but 'What is Love' also had 4.45 for awhile. Everything gets voted down, that's the way it is when you get in the top 50, you gotta have an amazing fanbase like Adam Phillips does to keep your stuff in the top 10. If it's your first submission to the portal, you can pretty much forget it. Of course there are rare exceptions.

yeah and I also vote 0 and lots of stuff on the top 50 . I make sure Lilium FFA+ , AVA and that metalgear movie all get a zero from me everytime I pass by.
I'm sure there are others like me so thats where that also adds up.

aw man dude i agree with you mostly there, it's just that FFA+ isn't THAT bad. I mean, shitty concept alright, but great animation. Of course deserves to be lower, still doesn't deserve to be downvoted.
Not gonna make a difference anyways, way more FFA fanboys voting it UP.

I havent actually voted on that in a long while, I gave up. And replaced it with Ultimate showdown on my script that I run to auto zero stuff.
A zero is worth more than five and at this stage serves as a checkbox, I didnt like this movie. And so something may just go past it
A good idea is to go down past the top 50 and vote the lower stuff up you like. I do that too.

Well 'The Ultimate Showdown' sure sucks balls, can't argue there.
Personally I think the top 2 submissions of all time (that actually have a chance) should be 'PUSTOTA' and 'Los Dias Sin Dias'. They're lost in the 300s somewhere.
PS just discovered this recently submitted piece of work.

Highly underwatched and really original. Chekcx it out!!1rft
i saw animator vs animation a month ago on another website, but the second one totally rocked ass!
I hope theres a 3rd...

That was nifty. Certainly the weirdest thing I've seen in a while.
See, here's the problem.
There's too many people trying to downvote everything. I think this can be improved by setting a limit to how many TIMES you can vote.
It's really become a pain, and with that, there's no clear cut winner. I hope Animator vs Animation 2 holds up. It's entertaining, takes a LOT of flash skill, and is creative. Not to mention it's one of the best sequels to anything I've seen.
Also, I don't know if Xombie 9 deserves 2nd, you see, the author was too careless about his reputation, and by the end, he's giving everyone the feeling that he doesn't care about you, he cares about your money. Sort of a controversy, but that's where I stand. (dang, I hope that was spelled right, ROFL)
Another problem is that expectations are clouding voters' views about the actual flash.
If everyone just judges fairly, it wouldn't matter; but hey, it's not a perfect world.

That wouldnt work and below is just your opinion at its heart its a stick fight and thats mine.
If this was implemented we all would just find another method.
