Last week, we managed to get a bandwidth boost by hooking an extra server up to the new line. We are still waiting on the additional servers to arrive, but for the time-being it looked like site performance had improved and users were finally able to download large Flash files during peak hours.

However, we have been disappointed to see that our average daily Portal views has remained the same. We hoped to see it jump, since users were more successful with viewing submissions.

Our current bottleneck might be the database. A lot of users have reported database errors. Have you been seeing them more SINCE the bandwidth upgrade? We really need to fix every bottleneck, or these new servers might not even be able to help!

I've seen less problems as of late.

i get alot on my other comp but the one im on now i dont get that many

When I ask people if they ever go to NG, most say they've stopped a while ago because it's too slow. I guess I'll tell them the good news.

Not as many errors. Still a few every once in a while. My traffic is limited to my amount of time...it's not a bandwidth issue. Besides...once you've been here a while you tend to watch 5-10 entries then retire to the BBS.

Actually there was quite a few errors for a day or two after the additional server was hooked up, but lately I haven't really seen any except for when the site goes down every morning like it always does for maintenence or whatever.

Sometimes I get error messages like 3 or 4 times a day.

yeah, I haven't got them for a while.. but I'm so used to seeing them at a certain time of the day I just don't come on at that time.. I geuss alot of people would be the same without even knowing it.

I haven't had any problems as of late. I have totally forgotten about not being able to access stuff because of lack of bw. WTG NG!!

I am finding the new performance most excellent. I was one of the many people afflicted with the "movies download and play for about 10 times, then they jam up and won't display at all until IE or the computer is restarted" error. Since you've installed the extra line, even with only one computer on the end of it, I have not had a single movie fail to load. Beautiful.

Well, yes, I do still get errors, but not as often. I heard some people complaining that they couldn't even get to the movie pages from the portal on Friday or Saturday (I myself was out of town, so I don't know), but maybe it was just those super busy days, I dunno. Usually a reload in a minute works fine, though. Overall, a major improvement.

The only errors I see are those concerning the BBS.

There's still all the same errors as there were before, and as manyu times, but the stuff loads faster.

Everything loads really fast, but when I go to the Newgrounds BBS, I have a lot of trouble. It posts error messages a LOT.

I am getting errors sometimes, and for some reason my net just goes like the slowest in the world sometimes on the site,

I had some problem to post reviews, BBS thread and to cast vote, but to load a movie, it goes REALLY faster then before!

I didn't have any problems on Monday. I had a slight problem with Sunday. The movies were loading really quickly but the portal page was taking a really long time to come up.

I was able to see the movie once it starts loading. But the site's speed in the last several days is pretty slow. And I saw so many "The site is under extreme load ......." message, so I think that's the reason y the # of views didn't increase.

I know the error were getting so bad yesturday that i had to copy my posts so they would'nt be lost after i pressed the postit! button only to have that error1 message appear.

Just put more adds... Porn adds! :) Some people never close them, just for look the girls...

Hey, that's true, I have seen them a lot lately & the maintenance takes a while. :/

nah i barely see errors now... just the few occasional ones.
