vets are 10 and up, except exceptions like me and BIGBADRON and some other people. actually i donno the story behind ron. he might not be a vet. but just because you're not a n00b doesn't make you a vet, and really anyone here longer then you can call you a n00b. oh yes, i almost forgot, format is a n00b.

Dude, you're level 9 with under 1000 posts. I'm level 12 with 2400+ posts, and I'm not a vet. So what does that make you?

I don't neccesarilly agree with that, someone who takes a leave of ng and comes back three years later will be considered a vet, when under regular cirumstances like exp. they would be considered a newbie.

WHY oh why is level 8 considered the stage at which u become non-n00b??? n00bage stops at level 2 or 3 IMO, maybe 5 at the latest (depending on how stupid/ignorant an individual is)... and why do there only seem to be 2 categories, n00b or Vet? Surely something else lies in between? Am I the only one that finds the lack of ranks dubious?

PS I also think that a user's Flash submissions to NG and the reception they get (ie batting average?) should be a large part of a user's level/rank, seeing as how the whole site is based around that

n00b...or as I write it noob...is someone who is new...in a way...or I guess acts stupid. When I first came here, I was a total noob asking questions like how to rank up and what a secret meant and other weird stuff. I'm still a noob from time to time...and I even admit it. Most people feel that you unbecome a noob at a certain level or certain posting limit...but like some of the posters said it does not matter about your level or posting limit, it matters about how smart or stupid you can be.
