I love that the save averages are up so high, that 10,000 saves belong to 100+ people now, etc. etc.

I'm afraid it's true, Greg. Protection points are a lot easier to come by. People tend to cram as many as they can in and their profiles reflect this, with more people having high Protect : Blam ratios.

Incidentally, in a few weeks time, I'll be the highest ranked user to have equal saves and blams. I'm about 550 saves away from having a neat total of somewhere around 13k Saves and 13k Blams.

Well, like I said... it's kinda a double-edged sword with some heavy pros and yet heavy cons as well.

I like that saves are in bloom... but a good save/blam ratio being too commonplace? Yeah, it does make it kinda lose its special status/allure to be one of the minority to not have a superhugeblamtosave ratio like in the old days, if that really isn't seen any longer. ;_;

More likely, the closest to that will be folks with 15020 and 19995 and so forth. The only way we'll have a perfect moment like biteme with his 10000 right AT #100... is if someone intentionally retires on those perfect numbers like biteme (and I) did.

I used excel a couple years ago and I had some trouble with it and never really tried since, ... alot of complications moving data from slot to slot without re-writing it so I stuck with notepad.
If you could send me those formulas that would be great, I'd like to give it another go. =)

I wouldn't say it's easier to collect protect points. It just got harder to snatch the blams in time ever since submissions could be blammed after 50 votes. Take the blammers list for example, after that change last fall the top paces were almost cut in half while the top saves paces stayed about the same.

You might do better with an actual copy of the .xls file, so if you can't use this to do anything, just e-mail me (my username on NG @ gmail) and I'll reply to it with the excel file attached when I get around to it, kay? Now, if you have headers in row #1 in your excel file, this code goes into cell A2 (and then fill down all the way to... well, however many rows you plan to have). Thus, column A makes the output to paste into the BBS posts, the other columns are:

B - rank (1, 2, 3, etc... this number always stays the same even when sorting the list, cause it's B2=1, B3=B2+1, B4=B3+1, etc.)

C - change (not necessary, but I like to see the VP change there, too)

D - previous rank (you copy the rank column of B over to D every time you make a new update, and then when you sort the list, these get sorted "out of order" when people change ranks, and this is what the formula above automatically calculates the rankchanges from without you having to do (much) work.

E - usernames

F - userID# (for breaking ties while sorting)

G - profile URL/links

H - VP data

So just change H to whatever data you want to list, and boom... you got it. You'd have to play with some of the rest of the A column's data output as well. Which I did a long time ago to convert that code from a VP list making formula to a pentalist making formula (which is obviously wayyyy more code with 5 stats + a total sum.

You could always start a TooCool-type account to take the excess saves. Then by the time you hit 15k/15k on your main account, you'll have an alt with like 500 saves/0 blams. A nice start towards something nifty on another account.

I was #13 on the last update of this list, but I clicked the 20 or so profiles under mine, and 6 people have passed 24k since the March update.

Dude, I just told you I found OUT how I'm faring by doing a bit of simple profile clicking.

The last update says I'm #whatever, but I clicked on the 20-30 profiles UNDER me on that list, and found anyone who had passed me. For each person I found who was over 24,000 or so saves, I added 1 to my rank.

I got enough +1s to end up with a new ranking of #19, self-calculated. Give it a shot, it's fun,

Very true, there really isn't much need for them, and if you do want them they are all in the Top 300 B/P list anyway.

Well that is what happens when it isn't updated for a while, and I have been very consistent over that period, hence the rather large total :D.
