It's a fast paced forum and you can talk about whatever you want and still get responses. However most of the posts hear follow the quantity over quality mentality.
Newgrounds also attracts plenty of weird fuckers and its fun to just screw around, chat, and act like a complete tool with posts like "rape her!" "Crap on her chest!" "I'm gay and I like Lance Bass"

I have no clue why I keep returning here. My original aim was to find advice from the flash artists about starting up and getting practice down, however, it seemed that they never posted here. Now that my original purpose is not here, I don't know why I keep posting, the general audience here is very rude and crass, the rules are mostly ignored for the most part, and no one ever seems to be really happy here.
Yet, like a train wreck, I cannot tear myself away...like now...

I actually enjoy the site's high paced, diverse nature. I can come here, watch a movie, play a game, talk on the forums, etc. Each day, there's something new and exciting going on in the NG community. Its a great little place on the internets.

It popularity more than likely stems from the fact that most of EVERY LAST flash that finds its way on the internet, starts here. Thus, people sign up to either help get better voting powers (since WHENEVER you vote without one, it tells you about how you COULD do MORE, wink wink, nudge nudge) or because they want to submit their own, or just watch, and such, and after all, WHY NOT? It's free :).
Also, since most big sites have forums, eventually people will find their way to NG's and .... we can only hope those people won't be fucking idiots ..... hope :(
