actually the shah was already in control, and by overthrow all that happened was teh CIA payed more people to protest against the PM... then the shah stayed in power... whihc is why during teh '70s the whole hostage thing happened... along with irans dislike for the US... which is starting to fade away...

pick the country and i will tell u why we arent liberating them...

some easy ones:
north korea- they have a nuke... bush can get a missile defense since the US is threatened by nk wmds...

pakistan- the guy in charge is the one guy one the US side (for the most part) if the people chose whom their leader was Kashmir would be a much more dangerous place, and the country would not be pro-US...

iran- give it 10 years the country will go pro-west... the seeds are already there... all it needs is the ayatollah to die, and not cuz of a US bullet...

saudi arabia- pro-US, if the people chose odds are it would be anti-US which means less oil for the strong points of the rimland western europe and japan...

kuwait- its a vote in opec why rock a good thing...

turkey- secular democratic govt... major religion being islam overthrowing it would cause more harm than good

israel- too many influential people would be pissed if we did anything...

Also, im suprised to not have heard about that time the CIA was involved in the overthrowing of their president. I saw a big documentary on this, it is rather unfortunate that i cant seem to remember much of it.
