It depends on how big the knife is, and how starving I was. If I could chop it off in one slice I probably would, but I would have to be pretty hungry.

On second thought i would never be rock-climbing in the first place. What a dumbass sport. I think they should all be required to pay like $100000 for insurance. Leave them alone, you say? Well what about when they get stuck, call for help, then a couple of the rescue workers end up dying? Its one thing to skateboard as an extreme sport or something, but its totally different when you risk other peoples lives.
Thats mostly my dad's view, all i said was "yup." I cant word things right.

the only rock climbers that need rescuing are the dumbass city slickers who cant rock climb worth shit, and your walkin on thin ice there tanner, i'm a rock climber, and theres so many safty prosedures i go through, its pretty safe. and the rescuers are always extremely good rock climbers, i know a couple (one of my teachers at that) and their fuckin insane, but comeon dude, rock climbing is not that "extreme" you have more danger in skateboarding then rock climbing now...ok enought of my rambling, just a lil iritable today, and if i lash out, dont wana take it personally...but hey, "is what i say" ~the 'weekenders'

Scientists say that when people are placed in a situation in which they know they will die without action, their mind becomes detached from the body and is able to perform actions which would normally sicken or disgust a person (like cannibalism).
I think most people would end up doing the same thing out of pure instinct.

Skateboarding is not as dangerous, yes it is dangerous, more pain involed, but if you fuck up on the side of a mountain theres more chance of fatality, plus I'm hard pressed to find a time when 5 or six people risked their own lives to save a skateboarder from a set of stairs.

its pretty hard to fuck up rockclimbing, i mean, you could swing and hit a rock, but you aint gonna die, maybe get dazed, but theres more poblicity for city slickers putting their shit on wrong like morons and trying to climb up just to fall 50 feet. 5or 6? i can see 2, 3 at most actually going down for somebody, the rest are the lazy ass forest rangers who sit there pretending they have authority or something, and you havn't seen the paramedics in my town, they have nothing els to do so they send three towns to a simple problem, say one person need medical help or an ambulance, you get 3 abulances there for no reason (that wasn't rock climbing)

i'm sure he knew the risks he was taking but nobody can predict fate.
its more of an example of the train of thought some people have "it can't happen to me" is what people think some of the time.

I wouldn't have the nerve to do it.I'm to scared to amputate myself even if it meant me dieing.
But I can't say,I've never(and hopefully forever)been in this situation before.
