how is it violating the rules? since liljim didnt make a topic himself about the update, why is it illegal for users to do it? if he did make a topic, then i didnt see it, and im not going to bother to search for it either.

This sort of stuff is not against the rules. You're supposed to search for what you're posting about if it's a question about the site and changes to it. One of the two topics that was posted about this was entitled, "I just noticed something." How is one supposed to perform a search on "views" against that title? I only found that topic because it was posted just after I made the changes last night.

The mods can make their own minds up what to lock or delete, particularly when the topics and posts are in the general forum - they get to that stuff quick if they want to take action against it. MustardGT has already apologised for posting... Get off his back already.

yes, exactly. and also like u said, the other topics were poorly named, so how was anyone supposed to know they were even about the same thing? im pretty sure it also says in the rules that topic names should clearly state what the topic is about. really none of these topics had titles which explained their content, so no one is to blame.

I should make a topic bitching about how people don't read the fucking posts after the main one. Why not read them before you go posting about someone being stupid.
