Global Warming Solution

Okay I realize that there are many topics on Global Warming, but I couldn't find one that this news story fits into. So mods I have read the rules previously and I believe this story adds something new to the discussion. If not then I apologize, and will serve my one-day sentence like a good political prisoner!-)
But it appears that an ex-Canadian Defense Minister who held that position in the 1960s has a solution to Global Warming: exploit the technology gleaned from UFOs from various countries such as the US and Russia who have reportedly recovered crashed alien spacecraft.
This presents several issues for me:
1) I am a skeptic of JFK's assasination, 9/11 conspiracy theories, and GW. I hate conspiracy theories (signature quote is tongue in cheek joke). I even analyze my faith in God, and the attendant theology...alot. Yet I find myself wanting to believe in Roswell. So seeing it touted as the saving grace of GW, something to me is only a unproven theory based upon weak and incredibly complex science, is a hard pill to swallow.
2) Being overly analytical I recognize that the belief is recovered UFOs is actually very kooky and the property of intellectually fringe element of society. And so I see the humor and symbolism in it being brandied about as a solution to another kooky and intellectually fringe theory that is abuzz in society.
3) Being a believer in UFOs I wonder about the practicality of using UFO tech to solve GW and other human problems. Their tech is probably about a million years ahead of our own and could be a great benefit to the Earth and mankind. However, I wonder just how accessible it is. We like to think we are at an appex of technology and intelligence; and compared to the past we are. But what about compared to the future? Take Christopher Columbus for example.
Having recovered from Europe's Dark Ages, I'm sure Spain and Italy in 1492 believed that they were modern and at a technological appex. And a visionary sallied forth to expand this apex with three brand new ships, maybe the best on the ocean. Yet do you think we could wreck a modern US Navy nuclear submarine or aircraft carrier on the shores of the Azores and (providing Chris and Isabella with unlimited funds) ask him to build three of them? Not a chance because the tech was outside of their reach. Could the same be true with captured UFO tech? Is it not arrogance to think that we can reverse engineer the most complex systems of something so far ahead of our time?
Anyway, I've said my peace for right now...

The person who wants to use alien technology to stop global warming is in his 80's.
He was in the defence dept. Top aide whatever to the Prime Minister.
See what becoming SENILE does to ones mind.
I have to say I read it in the local paper & thought it was funny as hell is.
Global Warming was not at the top of the news stories then, it was more about the cold war shit that was going on.
As for having less respect for the Canadian Goverment.
Besides overtax us, they use all their time in power , to get re elected, fuck with actually trying to govern, its all about pulling the wool over voters eyes ,How can any person in their right mind RESPECT that type of behaviour

Most of the governments are like that, and stop whining, that many people in the world would kill to have a government like yours.

Global warming is a crock of shit anyways. The iceburgs will melt anyways. It WILL happen but it has been happening at a slower rate than the last 300 years.
So start using your aerosol cans kids because we might as well speed it up because we can't stop it.

Just because many others live under armpit goverments considered worse than Canada, doesn't mean we have to like how fucked up many things are in this country.

lol...I'm just saying that the Roswell Conspiracy is my favorite conspiracy theory to listen and talk about. I also admit that it is also outside of mainstream thought and into kooksville! Besides, I think it is more plausible than theories on JFK (definately more interesting) and INFINITELY more plausible than the 9/11 conspiracy.
Besides it's not like I'm the one claiming the tech could save the planet! That's one of those floppy-headed Canadian government officials! (No disrespect...just making a South Park refrence...)

What he's saying is he believes there are alien spacecraft on Earth. Ever hear of the 1947 crash at Roswell, NM? He also believes that the Soviet Union and other countries also salvaged alien tech off of crashed UFOs within their borders.
One would have to assume that we also recovered alien fuels from the wreckage. My point was how would we know it was a fuel source and not an expresso machine?

But there's the problem, we don't have alien tech.
Now, I mean, we could look to whatever fantasy that there is in an effort to solve global warming, or we could actually use the tools at our disposile to do it.
I mean, the theory your proposing is almost similar for me to start the "Cool the Planet God" movement where we pray to cool the planet.

I believe in UFOs and Aliens as well. Not because I want to believe, but because I've seen UFOs (what I thought were UFOs) when I've been camping and there was no possibility in my mind that they could have been planes or anything else. Planes just don't do what they were doing.
However, I don't know if I believe the conspiracy theory that the US has captured alien technology and is keeping it secret. Why WOULDN'T we use alien technology if we could make our current sciences and energy production methods obsolete? If the US has in fact captured alien technology though, I'm waiting anxiously for the day that it spills over into our society so we can use it. But until then, or until we have some proof, people like this wacked out Canadian are just making fools of themselves.
"We can fix global warming! Let's just use alien technology!"

Global Warming: Beneficial To Human Civilization
by Joseph Bast
Would some degree of warming be bad for most societies and natural environments? Probably not.
"During the 20th century," writes Dr. Patrick Michaels, "we have already proceeded more than half way to doubling the natural carbon dioxide greenhouse effect. Here is what resulted: Life expectancy doubled in the free and developed world. The developing world is catching up as their emissions rise. Corn production per acre increased five-fold. The growing season in the coldest latitudes increased slightly, but enough to increase greenness by 10 percent."
The small amount of warming that occurred during the past century consisted primarily of increased minimum temperatures at night and during winters. This means higher average temperatures, should they occur, would not result in more daytime evaporation, which some claim would lead to droughts and desertification.
Warmer winters would mean longer growing seasons and less stress on most plants and wildlife, producing a substantial benefit for the global ecosystem. Finally, past warming has been accompanied by increased cloudiness, a phenomenon also predicted by most global climate models. This means a warmer world would probably be a wetter world, which once again would be beneficial to most plant and animal life.
Ex-Vice President Al Gore claimed that "hundreds of millions of people may well become even more susceptible to the spread of diseases when populations of pests, germs, and viruses migrate with the changing climate patterns." Gore has also claimed that global warming will cause floods, droughts, heavy rainfall, forest fires, retreating glaciers, and heavier snowfall.
In addition to often being at odds with each other, Gore's claims are at odds with most scientific research. The two historical epidemics described by Gore to validate his prediction were unrelated to climate change. The Black Death, for example, was transmitted by rats, which flourish in cool as well as warm climates. Cholera has been a threat in warm as well as cold climates, and is readily brought under control by treating water supplies with chlorine.
The latest research suggests that sea levels would decline, not rise, if temperatures rise, due to increased evaporation from the oceans and subsequent precipitation over land. Increasing polar temperatures by a few degrees would not cause ice or snow to melt because the original temperatures are so low that an increase of a few degrees would leave them well below freezing.
The "torrential" rainfalls Gore fears turn out to be any rainfall of 2 inches or more in a 24-hour period, something every farmer knows would likely be a blessing rather than a curse. The number and intensity of hurricanes occurring over the Atlantic Ocean (the ocean basin with the highest quality data) has steadily fallen since aircraft reconnaissance began in 1944.
The IPCC itself found "inadequate data to determine whether consistent global changes in climate variability or weather extremes have occurred over the 20th century," with some regions exhibiting greater variability and others less.
In short, a slightly warmer world would probably be greener and a little cloudier than our world today, but otherwise not much different.

Actually, I got a better idea.
Think of it like this.
If the abominal snowman can survive in summer just as well as winter.
Something must be powering him, some sort of cold fusion mechanism.
I propose that we find the Snowman and harvest his cold energy to fix the earth.
I mean, it's flawless logic.

Thanx Jos, he was a member of the goverment, what about 45 years ago.
So here we have an elderly gentleman who is revealing secretes that he knows about alien technology that the U.S. has.
Or we have an old man losing it, to advance age and whatever decay of the brains functions you would like to call it.
Now if this gentleman was a current Cabinet Minister, in his prime ,I probably wouldn't hold much faith in what he was saying anyhow.
How does that saying go here..... Oh I remember!

Its pretty sad that a theory like global warming get such attention.
Both Al Gore and Global warming have been denounced as big as intelligent design by none other than America's Nation Science Foundation.
I'd listen to them rather than a blow hard politician who makes his big bucks off burning down the the rain forest. This was a well known fact during his election in 2000.

JFK was killed by the CIA, and roswell is bullshit. Both sides were working on flying saucer type aircraft, but stopped because they sucked (see the hole in the ground in nevada). Flying saucers would have been a fantastic idea during the cold war though. Think about it. A spy device / first strike weapon that would be written off by most of the target country's population as a hoax / mass hysteria. Roswell isnt bullshit, just the excuse that it was indeed aliens that crashed there!
Theres no proof JFK was killed by the CIA. I read in some conspiracy book that his assassination was sanctioned by the Vatican. For what reason I forget.

Who cares if JFK was killed by the CIA? He wasn't that great of a President anyway, the bullet that killed him is what made his legacy...not how he ran his Presidency.
Also Roswell was not a testing facility. My grandfather was stationed there in 1947, and what it was was the only nuclear capable military unit anywhere in the world.
But all I'm saying is that for me, personally, Roswell is the most interesting and (if true would be) the most important conspiracy theory and event in human history.
