The film is actually an adaptation of the comic book by Frank Miller, which was published approximately a decade or so before anyone considered making a videogame like God of War.

More than a few, actually :D what with giant elephants and rinos running around the place, and Leonidas not being 60 years old, and a whole crap-load of other stuff that I won't say for fear of ruining the movie for everyone who hasn't read the comic book.

I've read that the Spartans were far better equipped than the Persians. Also, Thermopylae is a bottle neck, so the Spartans wouldn't have had to fight too many at a time. I'm sure it is glorified, but only because it's such a badass thing to do.

300 will be the movie everyone talks about for a long ass time. I simply can't wait to see it. As for if it will do good or not, I think it's safe to say a movie like "300" will do amazing.
