a bunch of my friends and I are gonna go see it opening day.. but we realized that this movie will be so badass that we'll probably break out in a huge orgy after its over. we decided that since it will be because of such a completely amazing movie, none of us will be considered gay.

The movie definitely looks like it's going to be sweet.

But they are only exaggerating an already exaggerated account of the Battle of Thermopylae. In the movie there are trolls, and beasts and shit that didn't exist back then, let alone ever. But even if they didn't add that stuff to the story, it would still be an over glorified account of something that hostorians aren't even sure about.

I think its just a myth that only 300 Spartans found as well as people think. It doesn't matter how skilled you are if you're facing hundreds of thousands of superiorly equipped troops..

The film is actually an adaptation of the comic book by Frank Miller, which was published approximately a decade or so before anyone considered making a videogame like God of War.

It's probably one of the most over hyped movies since Snakes on a Plane, and we all know how that turned out. Still, i fucking love sword and sandals movies. It's a movie, go see it to enjoy it.

More than a few, actually :D what with giant elephants and rinos running around the place, and Leonidas not being 60 years old, and a whole crap-load of other stuff that I won't say for fear of ruining the movie for everyone who hasn't read the comic book.

Still, I'm with you on this one. It's a damned action movie, not a documentary.

Also, knowing that it's a movie based on a comic book (and not directly based on the historical facts), even those jerk know-it-alls will probably manage to shut up during some of the more exaggerated scenes.
