If your friend starts smoking salvia as much as he smoked pot, he's going to have some serious issues. If you smoke too much pot, the worst that will happen is you'll become a burnout loser with no ambition. If you smoke too much Salvia, there's a good chance of developing schizophrenia.

That can happen with all drugs, its just you go insane from salvia due to the experience and not the effects on the sunbconscious brain.

Not all drugs cause schizophrenia. It's really just the hallucinogens that do it. People don't go insane from doing coke or heroin or marijuana (but marijuana may trigger earlier development of schizophrenia in people who would otherwise have developed it later in life) It is mostly the experiences that cause it, but there are a number of other physical contributing factors as well.

IMO salvia is a less hard drug then weed. the trip isnt very intense at all, and the worst its ever been for me was when i lost all memory of what happened and what the trip was like, except that every image i saw was melded with every other image and everything seemed connected. but the majority of the time, you'll just babble incoherently and laugh hysterically because you can't seem to understand anything thats going on. you stop tripping after a very short time. its perfectly safe and not all that scary. you might even be disappointed.

f0d, that doesn't sound like other experiences I've heard. Maybe you just got some weaker stuff.

i've done it 4 times and its always been the same, with only the last time really causing me to hallucinate. i did it with 5-6 other people who all had similar experiences. at one point we were all tripping out and trying to talk to each other but we couldnt understand what any of us were saying, so we all just started cracking up for like 30 seconds straight. it wasn't weak shit either, it was pure purple sticky salvia extract. 30X strength. and the guy at the store was warning us about how gnarly it was gonna be and shit but it ended up being pretty mellow, not worth the money but still fun. it only caused real hallucinations when i held the smoke in for longer then 15 seconds, and thats when i pretty much lost any consciesness of what was going on.

I've never tried salvia and I just go by word of mouth. I'm no expert on Salvia, but I'm suspicious of all hallucinogens, expecially ones that haven't been studied.

Salvia is hit and miss- you get a weak trip, or you get a mind altering experience. There are many personal accounts where people say their entire perception of reality is warped from it at its strongest, and it does almost nothing at its weakest.

As you said, youve done it 4 times. I doubt your experiences are going to be in a different spectrum then the weaker drugs around.

I've had experiences with it ranging from no noticable effects to some of the most intense trips I've ever had from any drug. It's by far the strangest and most unpredictable drug I can think of. I've smoked vast amounts of 45x in one sitting and had it do absolutely nothing, while another time I smoked some 15x, went out onto the balcony and sat down, and felt an immense pressure bearing down on me as half of my field of vision shifted to one side and the entire sky turned into a swirling orange haze with solid walls of shifting patterns raining down from it.

I have no idea how it manages to effect you so much at a certain time and do nothing the next. You would think there would be some sort of constant effect on the brain.

I just did salvia today for the second time.

My friends had a good time, I did not.

I had a .5 g's of 20x in a bowl, cashed it with a blueflame lighter.

i was tripping for 10 minutes, i felt paralysed and i forgot who i was. i couldnt move, i forgot i smoked anything.

it sounds fun, but i hated it..fun for some not for others

Don't mean to double post, but I didn't do my trip justice.

MY friends were sittting on a couch and a chair, I looked at them, looked to my right and saw the same thing. Wherever I looked it was that scene.

Then That scene started to scroll up and repeat it's self.

only it wasnt my friends in the chairs, like other ppl i know took their spot on each slide of the scroll..

whole time im trying to get back to the real life, and i heard music on one of the floors..so i kept flipping up to find the one playing music..it began to get louder..and BAM! im back in reality fucking scared shitless im gonna go back to the "elevator world" as i call it

that was today, and i realised EVERYTIME i did this salvia, this would happen i just couldnt explain it until my last trip.

i did it 4 times yesterday throughout hte day, same fx everytime i thought i was the floor..but now i realised i go unconcious on slavia and haluciante and dont move and struggle for conciousness

i think this may be because i have sleep paralysis..because lal my friends could move and were just fkt up and they did more

well i knew that much was true. i've never experienced or seen anyone experience a mind altering trip though. only read about it on NG. yeah ive only done it 4 times which might not be enough to know the full effects of it but i dont have 40 bucks to shell out on every gram of a drug im not even sure will work. id much rather spend half that amount for a sure thing (weed) or cut open and cook up the san pedro cactus in my back yard to make some homemade mescaline

You don't just randomly go insane from hallucinogens. If your family has a history of schizophrenia (meaning you already possess the genes) there's a small risk hallucinogens can "unlock" the disorder. All those scare-tactics are just propaganda.

Anyways, I've tried salvia a few times. The most I've ever done was a 10x extract at my buddy's apartment. For a good 3 minutes the world was literally doing somersaults. Everything was moving in different directions and something about triangles and street signs. It's hard to remember lol. Haven't done it since though. It's just not that fun of a drug. However, if you wanted to use it for meditation purposes, I can see how it would work well.

MARIJUANA can unlock schizophrenia. Hallucinogens can cause it. There have been alot of people who have gone insane from hallucinogen use. Sid Barret of pink floyd went absolutely batshit loco because the rest of the band thought it would be funny to put LSD in his coffee every day.

I'm not saying Hallucinogens are bad, most people who do them wont go insane. But personally, I'm not touching them. Except maybe peyote.

I dunno if that's true, but my friend is convinced, so i'm trying to tell him that smoking salvia ain't much different. I don't think it's an issue of him getting scared, but meerly an issue of the effects on your brain.

If you know that the bud you have is just pot, smoking it isn't going to get you addicted, it isn't going to irreversably destroy your mental health.
But it is illegal most places, so your breaking the law & getting caught , that will probably F&$# with your mind!

Anyhow, Willy Boy tells me that smoking Salvia, a LEGAL hallucinagenic drug, is not the same as smoking weed, and therefore he is not breaking his promise to stay clean.

Well, since he is not on probation or anything, he is ok on the promise.

Both are harmful, if he wants to succeed at all in life he needs to go cold turkey.
