I'm sure some of you had to read this book for british literature in school this year, as I just did. But if you haven't, pick up a copy today. All you rebels should like it.

2 + 2 = 5.

2+2 does not equal 4. Not the way I'm gonna teach it in the future. 2+2 is gonna equal chair.

It was a great book. The movie 'V for Vendetta' was heavily based upon it. Both very great, and made me really start to think about what the future may be like.

Good choice of reading though.

No, the movie "v for vendetta" was based on the book "v for vendetta"

As for 1984. A happy ending would have robber the sense of the absolute power of the system. It would have negated the whole point of the read

1984 was arguably the best album Van Halen ever released. Featuring such classics as 'Hot for Teacher', 'Jump', 'Panama' and my personal favourite, 'House of Pain'. Being the last studio release to feature Dave Lee Roth on vocals (until they briefly reunited for their greatest hits output) it marks the peak of their career.

That's what Orwell said when the book was written. :) But 1984 came, and no big brother to be found, lol.

I did a book talk last year on it. I read it on my own steam though, it wasn't a class thing. George Orwell seemed to have some kind of window to the future (not necessarily with this book) but with Animal Farm. It was like a model of Soviet Russia.

I think it's very interesting the way the guy (can't remember the name, Stan or something?) ends up loving Big Brother. I suppose that's the ultimate facist society because everyone cheated themselves into thinking that the way they lived was acceptable. It was also very realistic the way they changed the literature. It shows how the people in power control history (or they used to).

Give my thoughts form and make them look insightful.
