1. Way faster to type. L and O are right next to each other, and LOL is one letter less than FOFL or ROFL.
2. It's true, not some exaggeration. Everyone laughs out loud. Not many are rolling or falling these days.
3. Classic. LOL has been around since the dawn of IM. It must be preserved for our "yough".
