I was in ROTC for a semester during my freshman year of college, and even though I was really fit, I could never do a single correct push-up. I simply do not have the upper body strength to do push-ups. I can do crunches or sit-ups until the cows come home, I can outlast the brawny guys at flutter kicks, but ask me to do anything from the front-leaning rest position and I'll have to cry uncle.

Things like biceps and triceps curls, weirdly enough, I can do at surprisingly heavy weights. Apparently I have weak deltoids, or something.

This reminds me of how badly I need to get back in the gym. Since I'm thin, nobody can tell that I'm horribly out of shape, but I am.

He followed me home, can I keep him?

I'm a very light person, and have quite a lot of energy. Since I don't have much weight to push up (I'm 150lbs and 6 feet tall) I can do quite a few.

I am quite agile and mobile most of the time (summer mostly) but I did 75 before lowering, breathing, and then stretching. I'm going for 100, but not yet =/

so to get there, I do 75 (less sometimes depending on how my day was) and then I do a second set to get to 100. I usually stretch out my legs and do sit ups as well. (100 of those)

I don't have a weight set (or at least one inside. We have one outside in our garage, which I made a new years resolution to use once it gets warmer... since it's fuckin COLD in Ohio...) so jogging works well. I also recommend climbing trees. Great excercise (pulling yourself up, balance, stretching for branches, etc) and it's fun to get higher up ^^

lol (just have a high metabolism and adrenaline count =D) I am FAR from being a jock. =)

I go to newgrounds and try to make flash animations! =D
But anyway, I haven't done my pushups in a week. I'll do try for 50-75 first set, and then see how far I get. (3 minutes? k)

15, then my arms felt sore and I gave up. Could've probably done a couple more, but just can't be arsed.

OH Shit... lol, ow...

I collapsed at 63, and it was about 57 seconds

avg pushup per second (first go): 1.11

I did my last 37 in about 45 seconds (1 minute after my first set. I collapsed afterwards O.O I used to be able to do 100 without a collapse, but I never timed myself either then)

avg pushup per second (second go): .82

The last 10 took the most time O.O lol

I'm really surprised. I was expecting higher numbers O.O
I don't consider myself to be athletic at all (in fact, I probably would do poor at bench pressing T_T)

What good is being able to do lots of push ups in an academic dominated world anyhow?

I agree.

I just recently did some stretchin' and exercisims, and I can do about 15-20 push up in row.

Ironically I can do 100 sit ups easily :)

What a great excuse.

Eh, I got to 27 before I said 'fuck it'. I know I'm an unfit geek, so it doesn't bother me really. I'm only about 54kg anyway, it's not like I'm overweight or anything.

I shall let my body degenerate early from laziness and lack of exercise! Woohoo, I'm a rebel without a clue! =D

You're probably the only one doing it right, most of this guys are obviously lying.

If you really have trouble believing that a fit person can do more than 10 push-ups...you need to get out more.
