Writing forum

As most of you know, a lot of people post chapters of a book that they are writing on the general forum. This can be annoying cause sometimes we don't what that stuff in the forum. so I was wondering what everyone would think of a writing forum for people to post poetry, story's, screenplays and what not, sort of an alternate to the art forum. just seeing what you all think of the idea.

Though with the current popularity of stories nowadays, a story forum would be interesting.

Ha, I agree that a writing forum would be awesome, because I wrote some stories myself.

And actually a lot of its not bad, just needs work, so a forum would help

But if the ones that can have their own forum? That'd be pretty sweet. It's a good idea, considering that many people at least try writing stuff.

Sadly, true. And this is coming from someone who enjoys writing, and sharing his work on NG.

But I think it's a bad idea for another reason...... Most NGers won't bother going into that forum. I like posting on General because I know most NGers are going to see the topic on the front page of that forum. They then have the option of clicking on it, or scrolling past it. But at least they'll see it.

Not a member of the Writer's Guild for the same reason as above.

Hm.

I suppose it wouldn't be a bad idea. I enjoy writing a line or two once in a while myself, and I certainly like reading some of the stuff that the more competent and creative writers around the BBS come up with.

But it's like Monocrom said: there's not much of a chance that a lot of people would get interested enough in a section like that.

Unless someone stuck some topic on the Front page of the General section, like what people do for the Art competitions and such.

I like the idea for a writing forum. I'd post in there. And it wouldn't be as active as the general forum so you have as much time as you will want to make a decent post. :)

Not just poetry, I think. Stories as well, like the kind of stuff that pops up in the General forum once in a while.
