well I dont think Australia bitches about us but i do believe a lot of the world hates us. It is because we are powerful and aren't communist and don't have a king. Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and some other middle eastern countries hate our guts, I personally say we nuke 'em.

Healthcare:
Your ignorance is getting the better of you, I don't get free health care, nor do my taxes pay for my health care. I pay $1008 (out of pocket) a year for my family of 3 for healthcare, that's all.
Taxes:
I will gladly use myself as an example: $64,000 gross pay, 14% income tax = roughly $9000 in taxes. According to this page (Schedule Y-2) I would have paid somewhere around $12,600, which is just shy of 20%.
According to this, You're just a fucking lying Canadian. You should have a 22% income tax. And that is just your FEDERAL tax, meanwhile, income tax that gets added on BY YOUR PROVINCE is, 6.05% on your first 34,397 of taxable income with addition percentages added depending on your socio-economic status. Meaning you should be paying about 25% of your income on income tax all together I assume.
Hmm.. seems you've been paying your taxes incorrectly. Either that or the more reasonable explanation which is that you're a pathetic liar.
Now, the list unfolds some more: Your income tax is added on to the taxes you pay on all of the things you buy. SALES TAX in B.C. is 13%-16% when added between your Federal GST Tax of
6% and your Provincial tax which is 7%-10% depending on the product.
Thats adds up to you paying a SHIT LOAD more on taxes than I do in both relative and absolute terms.
Meanwhile, I'll use myself as an example, I make $45,000 a year at age 20, I get tax breaks for being a college student and head of a household, including tax deductions on tuition and house/board. I ended up paying 14%, but only 8% after tax deductions, therefore I payed $3,600 of my income. Then, I have much more purchasing power than you do after this because the sales tax in my state is 6.5%.
And I actually don't pay ANY money on health/dental insurance. My employer pays for my insurance, and I have a $250,000 coverage plan between me and my girlfriend. Thats pretty good if you ask me. I wonder what your coverage REALLY is? Not just your lie about "unlimited healthcare for 1000"
Your bit about macroeconomics is just a difference in governments, it's not something to be jealous of.
I think its something to be VERY proud of. My country is a country of peers, with individual opportunity and individual responsibility. Our government doesn't control our economy, WE DO. And that is why so many people come to the US, they'd rather have control over their financial destiny.
Nor should I be jealous of the migration rates between our countries.
Well, obviously your Canadian compatriots are jealous of what the US has to offer, considering they flock here at the first opportunity. I have witnessed this first hand.
You failed to table anything for me to be jealous of, I pay less for income tax
Um only when you lie.. I proved you lied about that.
, get unlimited healthcare for $1008 a year
Lie, big fat lie. You must be disabled and therefore exempt from certain taxes then, because Canadians are required by law to pay tax for universal healthcare that is added on to already existing taxes. They can't pick and choose what portion of their taxes goes to healthcare, therefore YOU LIE.
and live in one of the safest and the most beautiful countrie in the world.
Safe, well thats only because the US provides a blanket of protection and you aren't bordering Mexico. I wonder how safe your country would be if you had 30 million illegal immigrants, and had 5000 of them pouring into your country every day.
And "Beautiful", well thats subjective. I think the natural beauty of Canada isn't rivaling the US. The US has alpine and tundra like Canada, except the US also has tropics and desert. We also have a little something called HAWAII... thats all I even have to say about that really.
And your opinions on our culture (or lack there of) are just that, your opinions, which are definitely not worth being jealous of.
Dude, your culture doesn't even really exist. The only way Canadians can define themselves is "we act like Americans, dress like them, and immitate them in every other way but we're not Americans, our flag is a maple leaf... that's pretty much it"
Thats really something to be proud of! The entire basis of your culture can only be made as a comparison to the US of small and meaningless contrasts. And Canadians always like to say "well yeah? Europeans like us better"... talk about an inferiority complex! You have to judge your country based on the opinion of Europeans who could really give two shits about your country.
America is superior to Canada in every conceivable aspect. And if this wasn't true, then I really wonder why so many Canadians leave Canada the first chance they get and become US citizens.

Oh come on, you call me a liar and just provide a link to the Canada Health Act with no explanation of why you think I am a liar? I am not lying you fucking clueless twit. Residence of BC pay out of pocket for health care, maybe you should learn what to search for.
Taxes:According to this, You're just a fucking lying Canadian. You should have a 22% income tax. And that is just your FEDERAL tax, meanwhile, income tax that gets added on BY YOUR PROVINCE is, 6.05% on your first 34,397 of taxable income with addition percentages added depending on your socio-economic status. You're right, I should have paid more in taxes, but due to the tax breaks I get, I only paid 14% federal tax, (and yes, 6.05% provincial). And I left out the provincial tax because you were going on about the federal shit. Our provinces collect income taxes just like your states do. My 6.05% isn't too far off from North Carolina's 6% is it?
Hmm.. seems you've been paying your taxes incorrectly. Either that or the more reasonable explanation which is that you're a pathetic liar.
Or, an even better reason is you don't fully understand our tax system.
Now, the list unfolds some more: Your income tax is added on to the taxes you pay on all of the things you buy. SALES TAX in B.C. is 13%-16% when added between your Federal GST Tax of
6% and your Provincial tax which is 7%-10% depending on the product.
Ok dummy, learn how to read will you. We pay 7% provincial and 6% Fed GST. That bit you read about 7-10% was about taxes being levied to products COMING INTO THE PROVINCE FROM THE USA you fucktard. BC sales tax is 7%, what is Washingtons?
Thats adds up to you paying a SHIT LOAD more on taxes than I do in both relative and absolute terms.
It's more, but it's not a shitload more.
Meanwhile, I'll use myself as an example, I make $45,000 a year at age 20, I get tax breaks for being a college student and head of a household, including tax deductions on tuition and house/board. Well that is very nice of your employer to pay for your health care, do you thank them for it? Unfortunately my employer won't pay for all our BCMSP premiums, but he does have us on an extended medical and dental plan, which was quite thoughtful of him.
Your bit about macroeconomics is just a difference in governments, it's not something to be jealous of.I think its something to be VERY proud of. My country is a country of peers, with individual opportunity and individual responsibility. Our government doesn't control our economy, WE DO. And that is why so many people come to the US, they'd rather have control over their financial destiny.
Just because you're proud, doesn't mean others should be jealous. Learn the difference.
Nor should I be jealous of the migration rates between our countries.Well, obviously your Canadian compatriots are jealous of what the US has to offer, considering they flock here at the first opportunity. I have witnessed this first hand.
And the americans who flocked to Canada during the Vietnam war were jealous of what Canada didn't offer, WAR. What is your point? The only reason I can think of for someone to leave Canada for the US is for more money. If that's the only benefit to becoming an American over a Canadian, I'll gladly stay here.
You failed to table anything for me to be jealous of, I pay less for income taxUm only when you lie.. I proved you lied about that.
Nope, you proved you don't completely understand my tax situation.
, get unlimited healthcare for $1008 a yearLie, big fat lie. You must be disabled and therefore exempt from certain taxes then, because Canadians are required by law to pay tax for universal healthcare that is added on to already existing taxes. They can't pick and choose what portion of their taxes goes to healthcare, therefore YOU LIE.
Not every province pays their healthcare through taxes, some pay out of pocket for it. BC does, so does Alberta, other provinces collect the cost through provincial income tax. So I didn't lie, you just don't understand.
and live in one of the safest and the most beautiful countrie in the world.Safe, well thats only because the US provides a blanket of protection and you aren't bordering Mexico. I wonder how safe your country would be if you had 30 million illegal immigrants, and had 5000 of them pouring into your country every day.
Well thanks for being the sponge that soaks up all the shit, much appreciated. And I guess we should thank you for our low crime rate as well? When I meant safe I was referring to everyday safety, you know, the crime rate. Like murder for instance, the US murder rate is 0.042802 per 1,000 people, where Canada is at 0.0149063 per 1,000 people.
And "Beautiful", well thats subjective. I think the natural beauty of Canada isn't rivaling the US. The US has alpine and tundra like Canada, except the US also has tropics and desert. We also have a little something called HAWAII... thats all I even have to say about that really.
Hell, we have a desert. It's small, but still a desert. And it gets hot as Hawaii here too, 104 was last summers high here in Kamloops BC. And I would rather swim in a freshwater lake, than a salt water ocean.
America is superior to Canada in every conceivable aspect. And if this wasn't true, then I really wonder why so many Canadians leave Canada the first chance they get and become US citizens.
You still have yet to provide anything for me to be jealous of. We pay higher taxes, but get more social programs. We pay less for healthcare, and still receive quality medical services. Our landscapes are pretty much the same.
You seem to think that every Canadian would jump ship at the first chance, which is completely false. I haven't moved back to the states, nor do I want to. Sure you will find Canadians that want to make more money in their field, therefor they move to the US. But I highly doubt many Canadians move to the US because the overall 'quality of life' is something to be jealous of.
Injured Workers rights were taken away in the 1920's by an insurance company (WCB), it's high time we got them back.

Cellardoor6 Why do you continue to state americas the best country in the world as a fact. Theres no best country in the world, it's an opinion.
You may think american healthcare is better, but you a rich bastard. I bet the poorer side of america would rather have free healthcare. If you lived in Canada or Britain you would be rich enough to efford private healthcare,

Oh please!
America is famous for its government banning (not actually bannnig but might as well be) foreign imports.
When the VW beetle was popular in America the US decided to crack down on these foreign imports, desptie the fact they were popular with Americans, how did they do this? They passed a law saying any car must be able to withstand it's own weight being applied to the roof.
What type of cars were the only type of cars to be able to pass this test?
Big gas guzzling American ones of course!
You have a lot of rights in America, the problem is they are all written down which means that Americans tend to get a bit overconfident about hoe much control they each have over their country.
To be honest you have m0re chance of influcing politics (as an individual) in Britain then you do in America, and thats saying something.

Very good point. You mould your personality even your entire life around your surroundings so when there is somewhere that does not do as you do, you start to suddenly hate it.

Even if the NHS is shit I would prefer it over Insurance. Because you have a lower chance of healthcare in America if you have no Health Insurance where as if people (who have paying jobs) pay tax a poor person can walk in a hospital with a engine radiator wrapped around his neck can (almost certainly) be promised health care.
Stop calling people liars and anti-american because they prefer there country over america. you sad little cunt.

Cellerdoor6 is just making America look worse and worse. Why should you care enough about America to assume that Canadians, U ks, and Australians are so stupid that you refuse to talk to them, except in an argument? The nicest people I've met have been from another country. Don't make them ACTUALLY have a grudge against Americans, not America.

That right there is a good enough reason to hate your country :P

Difference:
We said we had the right to conquer countries because they were uncivilised and we'd bring them culture etc It was wrong but at the time it was considered a valid reason by everyone.
Now America (and the UK) lied to everyone, including their cuntry as to why they invaded another country.
Times change. Back then it was acceptable to say "Waht're you lookin' at?" and procede to brawl with countries, these days it isnt but America seems to be quite happy doing it anyway THEN sticking up for it! Most amusing.

And everytime an american mentions european imperialism i'll remind them that your country is the bastard child of european imperialism and that your countries short life was well on the way to becoming as imperial as any other european countries.
You've had wars with your neibouring countries over land, your country has nearly wiped out a whole indiginous people for land. You've had wars with other imperialistic nations over land. And you have bought territory from other imperialistic nations and colonised it, as well as having a war with the native people.
America's history is as imperialistic as any other country in europe just shorter.

Oh shut your fucking mouth. Stupid Canadians, Brits and Australians will say whatever they will about America regardless of what one single American says. They LOVE to bash America because it helps them salvage their dignity and ignore the fact that their countries are inferior. You ask any single Brit why America sucks, and they will say something that is either completely wrong, or is about something that their country is actually worse in. But they don't know this, because their society intentionally breeds a bunch of misinformed little twists who focus all of their attention on America and ignore their own problems.
Why should you care enough about America to assume that Canadians, U ks, and Australians are so stupid that you refuse to talk to them, except in an argument?
What? It's hard to NOT have an argument with a Canadian, Brit, or Australian when every day they repeatedly spout out false bullshit that they know nothing about. Heaven forbid that once in a while an America who knows the facts comes out to prove them wrong... Heaven forbid.
It doesn't matter what Americans actually do, stupid non-Americans will hate America regardless because they have already been heavily indoctrinated with false, out of context, anti American bullshit their entire lives.

I do have a degree you imbecile. I have a Bachelors Degree in Business-tech in addition to my High school diploma. And next year I'll have my 4-year Military Science/Military engineering degree, and that will open up all kinds of doors.
I am highly skilled, highly educated, and highly sought-after in my line of work. I have been given job offers from Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Radeon, and I even got an offer from a Dubai-based weapon developer...So you don't know wtf you're talking about.
And my salary isn't $45,000 a year, I don't have a salary. It's "earn as you go" depending on how many clients I get. I thought I was going to make about $38,000 for 2006, but I made about $45,000 because I took on more projects. Even though I'm still technically an apprentice, I am just as skilled as my full-time coworkers.
I get payed 60% of the profit on whatever project I work on which is usually $800-$1000 per project and I do 1-3 of them per week, and I'm very fucking good at what I do. If I stay on at my job, I'll be making 6 figures within 5 years. There are people at my work that are less-qualified than I am, and yet they make $200,000-$300,000 a year just because they've worked there longer.

Anyway, stop bashing american people, because half of you either never met an American, or you met an american who was a stuck up tourist.

Plus, the government does not equal the people.

Injured Workers rights were taken away in the 1920's by an insurance company (WCB), it's high time we got them back.

:: Oh shut your fucking mouth.
Really?
I hate "America" (not the people) for several reasons. Its daft and corrupt political system, the country's tendancy to throw its weight around the world, its one eye'd foreign policy (The enemy of my enemy is my friend, its how you ended up with Osama and Saddam). I hate the way that it, ultimatley, uses it's military dominance to bully other country's into trading with it in a free trade agreement but at the same time proposes and passes laws to protect it's own industry.
I hate most Americans becuase most the Americans I know are like you, full of themselves. Most the world hates you because of your actions and the attitude of your coutnry, not because we're jealous.
The UK invented America, we left it during a war with you because we couldn't be bothered with it (we thought it wasn't worth the effort, we were wrong). We had the 2nd largest Empire EVER and the sun never set on it. We have made more major breakthroughs over the entire of history then America. Despite the fact we are a tiny fraction of your size we still have power and influence that, while it isn't any where near America's it is much better on the grunds of the size and wealth of our countries.
What? It's hard to NOT have an argument with a Canadian, Brit, or Australian when every day they repeatedly spout out false bullshit that they know nothing about. Heaven forbid that once in a while an America who knows the facts comes out to prove them wrong... Heaven forbid.
I'd gladly let an American who knows the facts come along and prove me wrong, and ghuess what? I'm still waiting. So far I haven't read one post that proves how the hatred for America is unjust.
I have sympathy for those who hgave said "Well we're not perfect, but who is? The government isn't the people you know" because if every American took that attitude your coutnry wouldn't be anywhere near as hated.
It doesn't matter what Americans actually do, stupid non-Americans will hate America regardless because they have already been heavily indoctrinated with false, out of context, anti American bullshit their entire lives.
Indoctrinated? The UK has laws meaning any TV news channel showed here must be totally unbias when it comes to anything and if they arent they can be screwed for it.
What about America.... oh wait, every single news channel has a poilitical bias, wether it be Fox News reporting that top democrats are devil worshippers or some other news channel saying that Bush east babies for breakfast, America is much mroe influenced by the media then the UK.
You claim how America is the best country yada yada and that you are both well educated and highly skilled.
You have a degree and can earn $45,000 a year, that amounts to what? about £24000? per year?
Well done, with your degree you earn £4000 (about $8000) over the average earnings in the UK.
Either you're talknig through your ass about your qualifications, you got ripped off with your job, or your country isn't as affulent per person as you'd like to think.
Ok fair point, in 5 years time you will be earning (Say $400K because I'm generous) £200,000 PA. That is less then lawyers in this country.
The UK isn't perfect, but at least we don't stomp around the world trying to claim how we are the best and perfect.
