I took a gander at the flash forum and I saw that there was the pico day competion there too. Now I saw the stuff you get if you get 1-5th ranking and I was all like wtf? Over there you get like 7-1k for an animation. Now I know that animateing is VERY hard but still, why don't they reduce the money for flash and insted do a bit for the audio people?

Finding 3 audio submissions that sound like pico is sooo much harder then creating a flash game based on pico.

Don't be so demanding. The AP is only beginning to look important enough for the staff to send some rewards. Maybe one day...

(Of course, that would be more likely if this contest was for people to MAKE Pico audio, rather than find it)
I still think that contest belongs more in general.
Especially considering the fact that the person that actually made the song that wins, won't get shit. (Except for a submission usage... whoooo)
But oh well, I'm sure a real MAC will be soon.

Stop complaining its better than nothing and then if we got nothing you guys will complain that we have nothing.

Also getting a NG shirt for finding songs is a nice deal considering I would do it for free if someone asked...

I am quoting Rucklo.

"This contest isn´t made by NG staff, it´s a fan-based contest. The fact that the staff is willing to contribute with anything at all shows they care and support the community."
"Also, don't you think there´s quite some difference between FINDING three audios that sounds like "Pico", or CREATING a full flashanimation, competing with perhaps the best flash animators that are out there? Wich also brings me to this point; NG is a flash-site primarily, and always will be. Hopefully the audio part will be getting more exposure in time though."

It´s a TREASURE HUNT, and therefore it might be virtually impossible to give an author awards if he/she (lol PX9) aint around anoymore, f.ex.

It might have made more sense to have made the contest in general, but it still is more audio related, and in general, a thread disapears within minutes when it's busy.

I was just going to quote that, SBB ^^

Back in August, Arbiter, won 250 dollars. I think a video game is over generous. Honestly, were lucky to even be offered prizes when this is all fan-based.

Lol, Some stickers... That just makes me chuckle. I think it all depends on your views... Some people are just in it for publicity in money, where as some people (me) Are just in in cause they like making music, and could care less (Yet still care) for publicity or money or anything.

Another reason we don't get money is because most people don't even pay for the programs themselves. Most of the stuff in the AP is stolen/cracked, or a demo.

If we make profit from something we didn't pay for then that is more illegal than actually having the programs in the first place.

If we get T-Shirts and stickers, it is a little lame but oh well =)

?? Some win because they cheat on voting system ??

What the fuck does that mean? Are you implying that there is some sort of favoritism being shown by the audio contest judges?

I'm not sure if you are talking about the MAC or not but if you are then you are mistaken.

Awesome T-Shirt, though I have no clue what to do with the stickers, other than taping them to my instruments.
