My Portfolio

I'm trying to make some lay-outs for a portfolio, so that I can show people my style and whatnot. Eventually, this will help me to sell websites.
Anyway, enough small talk. This will be my portfolio, in which I will be posting websites, but also various pieces of art. Don't post your own stuff in here though, this is my thread. This isn't GTA, so no hijacking. Other then that, the only rule is to not steal shit. Seriously. If I catch you stealing something I'll suspend you from the Millenium Tower by your entrails and have seven owls eat your eyes out like cheap cheddar cheese.

Enough small talk. Here's my first entry to my portfolio. It's a website I made as a clan template. A Gears of War template, as you might've noticed. This is designed for a clan, but could also be used as a general Gears of War site. Just a matter of changing the buttons a little. Hell, you could even make it a Queers of War porn site, if you're that dedicated.
Sorry for the cheap watermark, but you know how things go on the internet. It's all from scratch, except for the screenshot, and I traced the GoW logo. I was thinking of animating the saw, but I realised what a hassle that would be. I still might though, this is a preliminary version after all. Hope you all like it, I'd really like some comments on it. Feel free to tell me where to improve.

Also, note that these website are for sale, but if you want to buy them, PM me. Don't post in here asking to buy them, as this isn't eBay, and it clearly says so in the rules.

Whatever the client would want. It's more of a mock-up, so it doesn't really matter at the moment.

it's pretty nice, but that damn watermark is really annoying to the eye :o

I doubt potential employers want to see that.

How would this work on the actual page? It doesn't look like either side ends so it can't be aligned to the centre, it wont look right, it could be aligned to the right of the page but again, that wont look right. The titles and the menu are way too chunky and childish, not something you want to convey on a portfolio site. The border around "The Clan" box is not even, the left side is much thicker than the right. I also don't think you need the picture in the bottom right of the page, you can't make out what it is, and it'll just make the text harder to read.

For 'make you feel better' criticism, I really like the grunge look, it isn't to over the top, and the colours are great!

Yar, this was my idea for a thread. I was going to do it a long itme ago then realised my templates are nowhere near as good enough to charge people for them. You stole my thoughts!!! >:( </3

Zach pretty much nailed this one. The text is way too chunk and so is the borders in comparison to the middle section. Both sides of the text are a bit plain looking to me, you should put something in there, perhaps a login form. The clan bit seems a bit pointless.
I like the gears of war logo at the top and the overall grungeyness, but i don't think i would post this in my portfolio. (no offense)
How much would you charge for this?

Oh and for a small version thats going to be posted here, take off the watermark. Noone's going to steal a squashed design. Only put it on the full view.
One last thing, i disagree that it would take too long for the chainsaw, you should definately do that. It would add something nice to the site.
On your next template, try something cleaner more professional looking.
