My First Thought: Wolverine & Aids

My first thought this morning was as follows.

What would happen if Wolverine got AIDS? Would he heal? Would his body just balance it out and he heal at the usual rate expected of a human? Could he even get AIDS, or would his body stop, and eventual destroy, HIV?

He wouldn't be able to heal the aids itself, but if he was ever sick he'd just heal it faster then the AIDs could destroy it. You can only kill Wolverine by throwing him in acid, lava, or decapitating him.

I think the real question is if a female had the healing powers of Wolverine and didnt have sex till after they kicked in. Would she be a perpetual vergin ?

Yeah. Maybe.
I mean, are the cells that heal him the same ones that fight infection? Does he have a mutated immune system, or just cells that a non-mutant doesn't have?
And if his immune system is mutated would the HIV be able to kill those cells, or would the mutated cells kill the HIV?
