congestion charge and driving

This is mainly 4 people in England but isnt the congestion charge dumb? You pay to go into central london on top of wat u originally pay. This is just another way to get money. Theres enough cameras already- bus lane cameras, spped cameras, average speed cameras (these annoy a lot), congestion charge cameras, hard shoulder cameras and lots of others. And this dumb idea of drive 1 mile and pay watever. These dumb ppoliticians can no longer use the technology we have created. And if ur and envoiromentalists saying we should drive dumb hybrid cars-

1) you cant overtake other cars- its hard to go with the traffic

2) you need to charge for 8 hours to drive 50 miles

3) you'll get laughed at

4) i swear by god that our power comes from a coal/gas/ oil power plant burning stuff. Isnt this worse, there is lots of energy lost from the power plant to us. And were just putting the pollution from the power plant somewhere else

In about 100 years they'll start having "Baby tax", "Air tax", "heal.thy tax", "unhealthy tax." Like it or not, no matter who is in office, the government is going to grow. By grow i mean need more money.

It depends on how you look at it. If you're a bus or taxi driver that relies on getting around London quickly for your living, then its a good idea. It should help to get people out of their cars ond onto the shambolic mess that is public transport. Really, how much extra effort is involved in walking one extra street to your office rather than drive a car in so you can park at the front door. It is laziness to excesses.

Just a not on hybrid cards too. I think toure confusing them with electric cars. Hybrids still run on conventional fuels, so theres no need to "charge for 8 hours to go 50 miles". Hybrids are mainly city cars where theres not a lot of call to go fast, so theres no worry about performance. Its like when you see a guy in a done up subaru come roaring up to the lights when youre at the crossing. As soon as theyre green HES OFF!!!...To the next set of lights which are still red. Pillock.
So yeah, performance might not be the biggest issue.
