I made a bet with a friend of mine that the US won't ever find Saddam. We agreed that if Saddam isn't found till april next year I get a sixpack of beer and vice versa.
I think they will never find him. The Yanks couldn't find Osama, so the same thing goes for Saddam.
What do you guys think my chances of winning are, or in other words, will the Yanks ever find Saddam?

Let me make this as clear as possible...
It may take a long time, but we will find both Osama and Saddam.
Just because we haven't found them yet doesn't mean we're not looking. There are tons of places for them to hide. But we're still looking, and we're getting closer. It may not be too much longer.

Nope. I highly commend you on your bet. You sound like a man who knows his chances. Youre completely right about Osama. They couldnt find him so they start a war on Iraq. Simple.

I take it you believe everything that Bush says. My Evil friend, Osama will never be found. He is either dead, or he has got plastic surgery, shaved off his beard and is plotting nasty things against the Americans on a beach on an island in the Phillipines.

You know, if Ousama or Saddam is dead, they probably burned their cadavres so that US never find them and look like complete fools. That's what I would do. Ousama and Saddam have the whole world to hide.

I think the chances are equal. Saddam is probably miles underground in a hidden bunker, but the US seems pretty serious about finding him so it could go either way.

Anyways, if te US never find him it may just work in the favor of Bush, like somebody told me in another forum. If Saddam is nowhere to be found, Bush can use it has an excuse to maintain his military presence in middle-east.
It will also work against Bush because he will get the reputation of letting his targets run away. In 2 wars (Afghanistan and Iraq) he lost the most important target (Saddam and Ousama). It will surely have an effect on the next elections, it has surely affected the reputation of US around the globe, given the Anti-americans new weapons to attack Bush's credibilty and worst, he just given all the terrorists in the world hope of never getting caught.

Because damned if the U.S. is going to let go of its Stalinesque grasp of a region half the world away. Hell, why not just declare on some more nations and form another set of colonie...er..."regime changes". We'll slowly invade every nation in the world until we find a guy who looks like Saddam. Or just a guy with a moustache. It's-a me, Mario!

I'm pretty sure they'll never be found! Not Saddam nor Osama! They surely are not going to turn themselves to the enemy, so probably they will bomb-suicide so that they never get caught... i mean... IF they get close to being catched! Probably both of them are having great meals in wherever they are hidden!

The point of debate is to ask the questions which may not be answered right away.

Well, think about this. Saddam has about what? 20 people who had plastic surgery to look like him? Whos to say he didnt change HIS face? He could be in Bagdad right now, or (as i think he is) out of the country. It'd be easy to leave if he looked like somebody else
