What are you talking about Rocko is Anime as well as Doug, Invader Zim and a lot of other cartoons as well since the literal meaning for the word is cartoons that are animationed. you must be talking about Japanamation but on your point they would still suck even if the laws here were the same.

Wrong. Anime is animated stuffs in Japan. Rugrats and stuff are cartoons.

Anime is short for animation and guess what regular cartoons a anime as well since they are animated. While Japanese anime (Japanamition) is the stuff from Japan look up the word anime and you will see that I am right.

You're looking at it wrong. Just because it's animated, it doesn't always qualify as anime. Anime describes the animation of Japan, and its culture, originally taken from the ancient cave drawings resembeling manga, with the irregular proportions, not just any old thing that's animated. Also, it's not only redundant to say Japanimation as it was created IN Japan, but NOONE even SAYS Japanimation.

Correct, the word 'anime' was only made into a loanword after animations from Japan became more frequently imported. The original meaning of the word is lost on those who imported it however.

And yes, you are right.

I've just saw 2 anime series so far...so for now it's Kanon and Love Hina but I'm trying to find better one

I agree, Akira was a kickarse movie. Can't say the same about Princess Mononoke thought... I thought it was kinda lame, althought it had some funny parts, like in one episode this dude throws a bunch of arrows and cuts off a bunch of heads, that was tits. The style of the drawings remind me of another manga, but I don't remeber the name, I thought it was pretty tight when I was a kid, something about a car that the driving wheel had bunch of buttons and gadgets. I don't think it was the same artist but it looked kinda the same. See I don't watch anime that much, I just watch it when it's really good. But I have to say, the best series I've ever seen has to be YuYu Hakusho, maybe not the best, but I enjoy it a lot. Pretty much anything that has demons and shit like that, is good nough for me.

That's why I probably read the Hellblazer: John Constantine graphic novels. About Dragon ball, I don't think it's half bad and of course we can all refer to it as the anime we all watched when we were younger, and watching the end of DBGT just reminds me of so much stuff, and it brings good memories. But, it got kinda old, and some of the characters had no point in the series. Still, a kickass anime. I wouldn't call any anime, a "starters" anime because, Dragon Ball to be more especific has been around since the 80's and they aired it on Cartoon Network on the 90's, so it's just another series that became famous because it was fun to watch. I would call it the Naruto of today, you now how many kids on my school watch that show? Not bad, but I don't like it THAT much. And I guess in a couple of years that'll be considered a "starters" anime as well.
