Is Planetside worth buying?

I've been keeping watch over the upcoming game Planetside and by the looks of it it looks astonishing. But I'm having trouble whether to buy that or wait until World of Warcraft comes out.

planetside is an huge multiplayer fps a bit anarchy onlineish with some of the themes. world of warcraft is a mmorpg straight up, like everquest dur but its made by blizz so it will be good, no doubt. yes buy planetside, rpgs get boring quicker

Alright i'll get Planetside. But WoW seems so tempting. I mean mounts and all. Plus battles where you'll fight against more than one guy with a group helping you out.

But then again Planetside offers flying vehicles. Too bad no seafaring vehicles or spaceships :(.

I will think about it some more.

Actually what other games let you participate in LARGE scale battles. I don't mean battles with 50 or more players but 100-1000 players with real squad tactics. No more of this useless rambo crap that you find in most fps's.

Don't say it doesn't happen, two of my friends are beta testers for it.

Well same applies for all games. Take BF:1942 for example. It's so hard to find a descent 32 player server without lagging people with 56k

BF: 1942 doesn't cost $12 a month to play, though.
