Why don't you post in a coherent language?
The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars. But in ourselves, that we are underlings

You are a complete idiot. They didn't fight for slavery. Sure, some of them were pro-slavery. But, in general, it was not fought for slavery. Do research before you rant. You ignorant, south-hating hippy. Go hug a tree.

The Civil War was mainly about states rights. For slavery.
What's so damn hard about that? Slavery had a direct impact on the Civil War, how can anybody refute that?

No one is. But people like to act as if it's the sole reason for the civil war.

that's because they fuck around when they're supposed to be learning history. and on another note, there are still people in the south who salute the confederate flag, and some of them are black. they don't do it because they want to pay homage to servitude, they do it because it's their home and to them that flag represents the south. some people may use it because of its connection to slavery, but it's the flag of the CSA and the flag of the american south

It wasn't the sole, it was the biggest but not the sole.

Yes, mine also listed other reasons and said that while slavery was one of the biggest issues it wasn't the only one.

My US History teacher in California refused to use the school books because "They only list slavery as an issue to the war. I'm going to say that there were many other reasons as well".

T Confederate Flag is merely a representation of the southern states that left the union. Nothing more, nothing less. If you believe that it represents slavery, then you are mistaken. Slavery is just one thing the Confederacy is well know for. The same for people who say that a swatstika represents the nazis. The swatstika is a hindu symbol. Some people are so ignorant!!

The COnfederate fla has alot of history. The Civil War tself was started because of many reasons, but yes slavery was an issue, although Lincoln himself never intended to free the slaves, he was only interested in strengthening the unions, which I did find in a high-school level US history book for ll of you who are dissin public schools. I myself, am one of those "rednecks" you speak of. Just because I have a southern accent you label me as a dumb, flag-wavin, racist, inbred, son of a bitch, but in that sense, you only prove how provincial and hypocritical you are, and make an ass out of yourself. I am not speaking for everyone from the north though just those of you who actually would label me and disregard my opinion for this fact. Anyways, back on topic, THe Confederate flag today stands for southern pride, and there is nothing wrong with being proud of who you are, and where you came from. In the end, aren't we all americans? I will admit that the Confederate Flag can also be used as a symbol for slavery, just as the swatstika(however you spell it) can be used to represent Nazis. It all comes down to what you , the beholder of the Confederate flag, interpret it as.

What i'm suprised about is that the same people who fight for the "right" to wear a shit in school with a pot leaf on it, are the same people who say it should be illegal to wear a shit with the confederate flag.
No, those are two different groups of people associated with the same end of the political spectrum. There's a difference.

All these damn yankees need to get a grip and learn that the Rebel Flag wasnt for slavery. It was the flag for the south, just like United States has a flag and every other country.

it can but it can also symbolize a time when the southern states stood up for what they believed in, even if it may be inhumane, and united themselves together dispite their differences
anyway not all states left the union because they wanted to keep slavery but because they wanted political and economic independence
the flag represents whatever the beholder wants it to
labeling the flag as representing slavery is the same thing as labeling someone due to their ethnicity (stereotyping)

Anyway, whether or not that's what it's supposed to stand for, that's how it's commonly interpreted now. It's like how swastikas used to mean well-being, but now they're associated with anti-semitism, or how "fairy" used to mean a little magical creature that flew around and dusted crops, but now it means you want hot cock sex.
Note for the slow: I am not comparing the civil war to WWII, or anything similar. Please consider the concept of my argument, and not the parameters.
