Hi. US Marine, currently serving in Iraq. Since he's in the Navy, and going to be a nuclear tech, the only way he risks his life, is if something nuclear blows up. The only navy guys out here are the medical corpsmen (who serve with marines) and Seabee's (construction guys).

How is killing people in Iraq protecting someones freedom in the US? Most people who go to Iraq don't even see any type of action. They may hear some distant explosion but that is most likely a firing range nearby.

Don't change too much, mate. Just improve upon yourself, if you can, and do so by what you think is right. I've heard that the military can change people, and in very, very few cases, I've heard that it can be for the worse.
