wow! two whole pages for the DAG! It may not be popular, but it has sure stimulated a lot of conversation. Luckily, that has always been the main purpose of the DAG, to stimulate thought about subjects, that they may be better understood. I'm looking for new members! to join the DAG, just adopt one of the beautiful sigs Shrike made, and make a post on this page.

N00bies Welcome! Want to express your opinion, but keep getting shot down by established posters? Tired of being left out of the loop? Need a place where noone is going to insult you for disagreeing? Then the DAG is for you. Practice your debating skillz in the explain thread, or just use the cool ass DAG sig as your very own. We need the support of N00bies like you!

I think playing the devil's advocate is a good thing has long has you believe in what you post. You can propose a different point of you that goes against the majority's point of view to fuel a debate, but it must fuel it. Sometime the opposing statement doesnt make sense and this is why some people loose their mind. I could do the Devil'd advocate. I could say:

I think Hitler should have killed all of the jews. If he would have done so, their would be no problem in Israel and nobody could curse at the jew for their wealth and greed.

I dont do that because, although such statements can make perfect sense, I do not believe in these or at least not in it's whole. Sometimes playing the Devil's advocate turns the debate in a hate fest. I usually try to remain objective and polite, but I do remember loosing my temper once in a post, and I must say I'm not to proud of that one. If I recall correctly, it was against one of your statements, but like I said, it was a stupid way to react...

Maybe you should try to build a debate with more people believing in both ideas expressed in it (ex: communism, but that one already exists) then the Devil's advocate fonction builds on itself.

I think it was mainly the threat of the DAG that was the problem, as I was already working on this organization before the application went through.

Click on Funks link. Then sign yourself up as a guest. You will need your NG number. Start a thread in the general section introducing yourself (as if we didnt know you) and we will then decided if you can join us or not.

Actually...it's more or less that I enjoy meeting new people, the PC forums have bored me...and the more internet folk and forums I hang around, the more it allows me to whore my site...plus, I get along pretty well with most of you.

Yep, I remember, I like to think that was one of my greater diplomatic acheivements in showing you that there's good people on both sides of the crew lines...which really don't even matter at this point anymore anyway.
