Or is it that tom doesnt want to rob first from someone that did all the work themselves.
I dunno.
Doesnt bother me.
The Daily Feature winner was higher at the time of the award selection, but dropped rapidly after that.

He takes a bunch of sprites from a video game and adds on sound clips from all over the place and clicks submit. I wouldn't really call that "doing all the work themselves".
Organizing and arranging this collab would've taken just as long. On top of that, this collab features the totally original work of more than a dozen artists.

Btw, congrats on the front page! Bee Dodger definitely deserved it.

Daily Feature, here I come!
Wow, I never thought I would see a Phoenix Wrong take a daily award again...
Something better most definatly deserved first...

I kinda anticipated that NG: People Are Strange would score pretty high. I'm glad now that I participated in it.

hahahaahahha you're kidding right...a small mockery that an art forum collab lost out to a sprite movie.
Anyhow it all came out rather well.
Sprite movies are fine by me, but jesus fucking christ, a movie with no original art or animation, story sound or humor I can give no fuckng credit.
Things like that shouldn't even touch daily 5th.

damn straight
Impact wars in my opionion was the best. But that's just me.
omg, I'm popular!?
:D YAY, cookies anyone?
How is it a movie like "Rocket Knife" gets voted a daily award while "Searching" gets blammed all day on the front page? At the very least I'm glad someone is attempting to recognise that animation can be used as an alternate form of...poetry, for lack of a better word. Thanks for getting people who dont normally go beyond the front page to watch something truly original. And thank God shorts like todays daily third will fade into obscurity, destined for the back waters of the NG servers.
How can you say it doesn't take effort? What the hell is wrong with you people (except ShirtTurtle)? It obviously took a lot of effort and it deserves it's place. You're all being either sore losers, or plain jerks.

Hehe, believe it or not, sprite flashes are a lot of work...you really shouldn't bash something until you try it yourself. Go ahead, you can download some sound clips and PW sprites for yourself. Now make sure it's on 12 FPS and animate over 3300 frames one at a time. Plus you have to count multiple layers and whatnot. Anyway, thanks to everyone who supports PW flashes, and I feel bad for anyone who absolutely refuses to embrace their enchanting hug.

Know what takes even more effort? Actually making your own characters and writing your own jokes.
Also, sore losers? Plain jerks? They probably wouldn't be bitching if it were something awesome like Future or something hilarious like Burnt Face Man.

LMAO
Newgrounds never ceases to make me laugh.
I agree, Future was amazing. But Burnt Face Man? In all honesty, that is simply not funny. I feel everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but there's no need to act like a bastard.

Wow, you animate at 12 fps? and OMG you make animations with over 3300 frames!? Hey man, I've made stuff with over 10,000 frames, so I can confidently say that I have the right in saying that this really isn't that much effort. I have over 30 submissions in the portal, and something that bugs me the MOST is when something that not only is taking somebody else's work, but if shown in a real proffessional film fest or was in a movie, would NEVER be eligible for the fact that almost EVERYTHING is not yours. AND MY GOOD LORD, COUNTING LAYURS MUST BE HARDER THAN I THOUGHT!!!1 Seriously, if the best thing you can come up with for your arguement is how hard it is to 'count MULTIPLE (OMG) layers', then you will never ever perspire or seek to do anything great and truly wonderful with your animation. It saddens me when i see something like this take the daily from such an artistic submission, but then again I smirk at the fact that something like this will never be recognised as artistic, original, or in any way deemed as quality work by anyone proffesionally, truly and seriously in the field of animation.
P.S. Newgrounds viewers do not count as 'proffesionally in the field of animation'.
Did you everstop and think that maybe a cartoon didn't need to be some earth-shattering, artistic masterpiece? Is it really that difficult a concept for you to grasp that maybe people would rather just laugh and enjoy something, rather than pretend to appreciate it for its artistic merit? It's a cartoon. For fun. That's all, nothing more, nothing less. If you can't comprehend that, then I'm afraid your life is bound to be filled with a great deal of disappointment.

It's not a cartoon. It's sprites. That does not qualify as a cartoon. I never said that it needed to be a masterpiece or something like that, the point i'm trying to get is that, in the real world, this should have never gotten the recognition it got. And I think it's ridiculous that you can through something together in little time and simply the fact that it's funny get's it acknowledged, when somebody is spending so much more time putting depth, emotion, and mood into their cartoon, but oh GOD! I CAN'T SEE THE PLOT! GIVE IT A ZERO! The thing is, If something is funny, it doesn't need a plot. Somehow, some way, by some MAGICAL happening, the magic fairy of animation decided that an animation with humor requires no plot to be understood. However, if a serious animation has no plot, we should probably all give it a zero for that reason. There are so many animations just like this one out there already, that yes, you can laugh and enjoy something, but if you are doing so 100 times at the same time does it not get old? Now, if you can't comprehend THAT, i'm afraid your life is bound to be filled with a great deal of blindness and stupidity.
Geez, people are really sore today. Is it really that hard to give someone a little bit of kudos for being acknowledged? The fact of the matter is, there is one element more important than all others when voting (or at least, there should be): enjoyment. If I don't enjoy a movie, I don't care how professionally it was made. Conversely, if there's something that was very simple yet enjoyable, then I will give it a hight score. I'm pretty damn sure most people have a pretty similar viewpoint. Besides, it's not like the Phoenix Wrong flashes take no effort. Besides the obvious busywork, it takes a lot of imagination to put the things together, which many "traditional" flash artists don't have.
Flash is an art. It comes in many different styles. You may not enjoy a particular piece, but you have no right to badmouth the artist.
The arguement that's going on here actually disgusts me. And Notorious, maybe take all of your rage out on the users who voted on my animation.
I must agree with THE-BOLSHEVIK. And as for notorious, I can't help but think that you really need to get laid or something.

Sprites are not an artstyle, never have been never will be.
Unless of course burgulary also counts as buying the item.

I don't understand why people think that you can download a few sprites, download a few sound clips and have it on the internet in 20 minutes. It takes weeks, even months! Sure, there are people who DO in fact accomplish this. But those end of sucking or being to mock ones that actually have a little time and care put into it.

when in doubt, ad hominem.
O-ho! A fellow Latin scholar. I must say, I'm impressed. However, I'm not actually trying to insult him personally, I just really feel he should lighten up.

So? This only took six hours to make, and the author actually made most of the graphics.

Anonimity wins this topic.
Well, I thik we should all just enjoy these things, rather than insult the ones we don't like. After all, that doesn't really accomplish anything, aside from maybe make you feel better.
