Ah yes the Inquisition are some ruthless motherfuckers. On the other one though im not much into getting the forge world aircraft. However those Thunderbolts and Valkyries look fucking sexy.

Ok so Tyranids then Adeptus Mechanicus or Necrons, then Orks. Hell yea man 40k all the way, regular Warhammer is mediocre and LOTR would only be for the hardcore fans.

I used to be a real whore to my warhammer armies...
I started with marines, and I now have around 4,500 points of them.
Then I did Necrons for a bit (back when they were metal miniatures under the 'raiders' army list)
Then I did chaos, and I now have around 1,000 points of them.
Then I did Tau (They had just been released, and I wanted to try them out) and I have around 1,000 points of 'pure Tau'.
After Tau, I went on to do Kroot Mercenaries (because at that time, I loved sculpting and converting new models... Armies with as much character as the 'mercs open up a lot of conversion opportunities.) I have around 4,000 points of them.
Then I went back to finish my necron army, using the new plastic models range. My necron army now numbers around 1,500 points.
And now, finally, I've got started on my final army for Warhammer 40,000 Apocalypse...
An Adeptus Titanicus Legion. (Scratch built. I ain't paying Forgeworld prices...)
I've also got some Dark Eldar from the third-edition starter boxset and some tyranids kicking around somewhere.

I was a really straaaange kid... I used to spend every penny I had on Warhammer.
Now I only really do scratch-sculpts and scratch-builds.

The day I sell all my armies on Ebay is the day I can afford to buy a better car.
Like a ferrari or something.

Just imagine I wrote something witty and funny here....
Oh, and check out my artwork: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic /802110

Shameless plug, but this is my return to warhammer after a prolonged absence due to airsoft. Any reviews either here or there are much appreciated. Just wondering if this story is worth continuing.

On the subject of the actual game, Ive been making a salamander scout from a basilisk chassis and plasticard.

Anyone else got projects on the go?

Dude, either Orks (new Codex is coming out), Tau or Space Marines, but it depends on what kinda style you want.

OK, this is now becoming a flash animation. The last one was abandoned because I realised my killer storyline was a complete rip of a Gaunts Ghosts novel. Ive still got the pre drawn graphics from my abandoned flash, so its feasible that this could be done swiftly. I would ask the guys over at 40kfourms to help out but the sites down.

I need someone to do a voice for Lyesir, the medic.

Much appreciated guys.

Descent of Angels was a little disappointing, yes. Not much heresy took place. Also, Loken isn't dead for certain. There's a SMALL chance he survived (look on his Wiki article).

Also, they've announced a new Horus Heresy book called Mechanicum. This makes Graham McNeill the most frequent HH publisher.

Spoliers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wikipedia can be changed by people, but when you read the book it talks about how he sees nothing but darkness at the end. Yea I saw that, McNeil is finally getting the 4th Ultramarines book out, ever since that cliffhanger from "Dead Sky, Black Sun" I've been wanting to know what was gonna happen. Even better the 6th Ciaphas Cain book is coming out.

I think I might go for a robot army. I like robots, especially Necrons. :D Man I love getting back up after every single turn! But I really think there should be some new rules for Necrons they are far too powerfull and I seem to win pretty much every match.

If it's the special release battle force of last year then it's an easy 1250 pts. you got there.

Man, it been a while since I last walked into these halls. Just an update.

My Dark Angels army has now been converted into the Halo Swords Unforgiven Successor Chapter. They have a colour to smecks for, this really cool dark purple, sorry, no pics, models at my Nan's and laptop I'm on at mo at my mum's. My Imperial Guard, with Kasrkin [sp?] painted like Star Wars Storm Troopers, lol. AAANNNDDD Finally, my Space Marine army has managed to scale the dizzying hights of having 3 HQs, 4 Troop Choices, 3 heavy choices, 1-2 fast attack [either a large assault squad lead by an inquisitor chaplain on jump pack, OR two small assault squads lead by their power weapon upped vet. sergeants]. Oh, and the predator I melted up to look like it had been plasma cannoned is still unpainted.

There ya go, Dark Angles Succession Chapter, gotta love the sons of the Lion.

I personally want to paint my Kasrkin's (If I ever get them) Spetsnaz Colors.

I hope you didn't melt it too much, it'd start to look a little chaos if you get my drift.

Spetznas colours... That sounds familiar... I once did a few of them, before my Star Wars thing, the same camo style as the soldiers on MGS2. That smecksy orange one. And I posted it on these forums that I think someone from here originally started, some kewel photos and all.

Also, the melted thing just looks like that. Melted, like plasma style. Not possessed fortunatly. Lol.

So I walked into the games workshop at my local mall, and they taught me how to play. I really enjoyed it, and I play other tabletop games (DnD mainly, used to play MageKnights and M:TG, oh... and Pokemon). But I'm really curious how everyone is able to drop soooo much money on the game!

I'm pretty interested in starting up, but I still haven't chosen whether I'd rather play the original, or 40K. I really like the whole art aspect to the game though, I used to make Model planes too, and I'm curious whether the paints and glues from that old kit would work well with the figurines.

Spetsnaz colors are a mixtures of blues and whites, and they all look so damned hot.

There is always a strong bias between 40k and the fantasy variant. As both 40k and fantasy have their merits, something most of the young shits around here have yet to discover. 40k is about squad tactics and company level battles, whereas Warhammer fantasy puts a strong focus on strategy and tactics, where a well-timed flank charge can mean the difference between victory or defeat.

Also, when looking for an army to play, look at the on-line store and see which armies you like best. Don't ask others what you should play, as they all have a strong bias towards certain armies. But if you must, then for 40k I heartily recommend the Space Marines, who are a solid beginners army and go easy on novice commanders. From there you can work yourself to a more challenging army.

If anything, start out small and simple, by buying the respective starters set, which for 40K is the Battle for Macragge. The game comes with six missions to prime you for regular 40k battles. Also, the official Macragge site features more missions and a handy guide on how to expand the included armies in the boxed set.

Fantasy features the Battle for Skull Pass, a great deal as it features two complete small armies and all the rules packed in a handy tutorial guide so you can play in no time at all.

In the end, the choice is up to you, yourself and nobody else.

I could tell by the name.

In other fashionable news I finally started reading the first Gaunts Ghosts Omnibus, and I have to say its quite a good read so far. Oh and Saturday I'm finally gonna start my Space Marines army off right. I'm getting the Battleforce Mk II kit which includes a Rhino, Assault Squad(5), Tactical Squad(10), Combat Squad(5), and Scout Squad(5). Along with a Devastator Squad(5). Not a bad start eh?

The upcoming Ork release is really something to look forward to. Got my grubby mits on a Spearhead and codex, nice is all I can say really. Orks are now cheaper, so more mob armies should take a rise and most of the stuff people hated has been removed or modified. And the new plastics are nice, very very nice.

For those interested, it has been rumoured that the 5th edition of 40k will be released this year, along with a new battle supplement named PLANET STRIKE, which will deal with planetary invasions and adding flyers to games of 40k. A slew of new plastic kits has also been rumoured to be released to coincide, including: Kasrkin, the Valkyrie, Space Marine drop pod, the Chaos Dread Claw and the Thunderhawk. This is all rumour and speculation though, no real confirmation as of yet.

If it will be done as a plastic kit, then yes, the kit will be more widespread and cheaper than the Forge World resin kit.
