Hmm....I'm going to have to say, no. We have control of every major city in the fuckin country so its almost theoreticly impossible for the US to lose this war. The only way Saddam's regime could fight back and do any damage to us would involve using WOMDs, which he "does not have", although he probably does have them hidden under the sand, in schools, hospitals, and other obvious places like that.

then the US wouldve left with its tail inbetween its leg giving more fuel to al-qaeda that the US can be beaten and would start the big war osama has been waiting for...

Precisely. Backing out of anything will make things even worse. Why the hell won't the antiwar demonstraters listen to that? The war is over. In the past.

A few things...
Q. What if we lost?
A. Well, we've already won, so it's not that important, but a loss would probably be an embarrassment to this country on a level not seen since Vietnam.
Q. Why is there still so much media coverage on Iraq?
A. Because there's still work left to do in Iraq. Saddam is gone, but we have to stabilize the country, keep Shi'ite extremists from getting out of hand, establish a democratic government, etc. I don't know about the UK, but here in the States the media is already starting to shift some of the focus to other things (SARS, a completely random murder case in California, etc.) All I can really say is that if you don't like it, don't watch it.

What if France fought a war?
Exactly, it just wouldn't happen, so there's no need to wonder.

Remember, France saved our asses in the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.

The French helped us a little bit during the Revolutionary War, but we could have done without them and still won. As for the War of 1812, Napoleon was too busy over in Europe so it was pretty much just our war.
Remember, we saved all of the Allies' asses during WWI, pulled France out of a huge hole during WWII, and aided them like crazy during pre-Vietnam to help them keep Indochina, which they lost anyway. So really, we've done a lot more for France then they did for us.

If they didnt win, I wouldnt have stopped laughing yet. They would have crept out, tail between their legs and the whole world would hhave had a good laugh.
Then everything would return to normal, it wouldnt be THAT big, I dont think.

Incorrect, their role in the revolutionary war was significant, but not necessary for victory. In 1812, they were too busy with their own revolution.
Once again, the anti-americans are wrong.

France lost over 1 million soliders during WWI. Only Russia had a higher # of dead soliders than France. France has fought a war, Nemmy. They're just not that good at it.
Back to the topic, if and only IF the US lost the war, the US would have a lot of egg on its face then.

The French only lost so many soldiors because the wr was fought in France, because it was closest to Germany. If the war was fought in the UK, you can bet we would have taken the most casualties.

Theyve got a lot of egg on their faces now. They still havent found any WMD's.

It was a factor, yes. However, heavy French casualities occured more often by poor planning (caught completely by surprise when Germany went through Belgium to get to France, their plans depended more on the fighting spirit of the solider and the underestimation of Germany's reserve troops quickly defeated France's attack into Germany) and inefficient weaponry.

I agree completely, this would help Osama or Saddam gain tons of recruits and followers because they would be less afraid of the US.

Oh, but remember, Donald Rumsfeld said that "it's unlikely we're going to find any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Saddam Hussein was good at the game until the end of his regime."
Egg on your face, Rummy. Egg!

that was when France and England were still bitter enemies and France recalled their defeat at the 7 Years War(French and Indian War) they remained rivals until the Entente Cordial pre WWI

Donald rumsfield needs more than egg on his face. A large piece of metal would be nice. He told us that Iraq DEFINATELY had WMD's but now, after the war, we arent sure.

Actually Rumsfeld still has said he is sure they have them, it took the inspectors a long time to find nothing baack in the 90's and it turned out he DID have them after all.

Ah, the American version of history. The tide was turning in WW1 before the US entered and in WW2 France would have been "liberated" eventually, even if it didn't involve America.

Eventually yes. But the US speeded things up a bit and took care of the Japanese in the Pacific.

Yeh, the tide of the war was turning.... towards the Central Powers. I said it once and I'll say it again: "We saved their asses."
:and in WW2 France would have been "liberated" eventually, even if it didn't involve America.
Ok, who would have liberated France? Britain and the Soviet Union were pretty busy saving themselves during Operation: Sealion and Operation: Barbarossa. And you have to be naive to think that the US didn't help fund these countries before it entered the war.

In response to the original topic I say...
If questions are the stupidest thing of all time. They show no logic so I refuse to answer them. We haven't lost the war so asking it is completely pointless. What if America was rendered powerless? What if the anti-americans shut up? Who knows but I'll tell you that it sure aint gonna happen anytime soon. Now as for France and the US saiving them I believe that thats another if question in the making. What if the US hadn't been there? Would France have been saved. This is more of a logical if question so I put it out to all of you to answer it.

Japan would not have taken over every country touching an ocean. For one thing, America is touching an ocean is it not? This statement is ridiculous and unfounded. Then again I support the fact that we did get involved in the war because Japan was a big part of the Axis.

Ridiculous.
Anything can fly if shot out of a cannon at a high enough speed. Either that or disintegrate like the Columbia spacecraft on re-entry.

How come they held a massive funeral service for 7 dead astronauts but not for the thousands dying of car crashes every hour?

Easy: none of those car crashes was broadcast on national TV. Or happen to be Government funded.
Now, can we send car crashing vibes to Jesse Helms?
