I used to watch that film every Christmas, but I think we lost the video.
His stuff is hilarious. Buster Keaton is funny too, but I think Chaplin is better.

thats great grandma television. anyone who enjoys those stupid bits of primitive movies are all dead now.
i mean, it didnt have sound, or color. its like they didnt even try to make it look ok. they just went "well, lets not put any color or sound because we are too lazy to do it"
its not that hard to put sound in, just get a mic. and color is easy, just get the right film. but they were too lazy to get them.

i was up in the early am's once watching a free-to-air community tv channel when a charlie chaplin movie came on (cant remember what it was called, he was a window cleaner who had a kid, but not his kid). one of the funniest things i have ever seen, i told my brother about it and now hes a devout chaplin addict, we have a box set of dvds with city lights, the great dictator, triple trouble and a few others. a little known fact is that he also composed most of the music for his movies. also, some of his movies were banned in continental europe as the conservative governments of the time did not like the way that his movies were able to influence the people. he was a fucking genius.

why are people still watching this crap? its old and out dated. there is no enjoyment here. its not funny so stop pretending. its old so it cant be funny. its obsolete comedy.
only way anyone could think its funny is to be from those times, and everyone, execet a few, who are pretty much in the grave, are all dead.
charlie chaplin isnt funny, thats a fact. the reason its a fact is because he was from the old days. comedy was funny back then, but now it isnt.

books without pictures are not because the writer is lazy. that is how books should be. books with pictures are made by authors who make books for the lazy. the ones who are too lazy to imagen things.
and paintings. well, yeah, they are lazy. paintings are for old people too.
at least we see eye to eye on something.

do you see him making any more films? no, thats because his fame died off and no one wants to make anymore films of him. that proves he has no talent.
if he had any talent he still would be making films. but no, he is just lazy with no talent now. probebly just sitting on a couch being lazy.
he was popular back then because they wouldnt know talent even if it hit them in the head. back then they probebly thought the earth was flat and that the sun was some sort of god. after the spliting of the atom people started to see the truth.
so yeah, charlie chaplin is a no talent losser because he isnt making any more films.

Anyway, I have a Film and Entertainment class and my teacher said that Chaplin wrote all his movies, the songs in the movies, he did his own stunts.
In Modern Times, he did alot of amazing stunts and he was 47 at the time and he was roller skating blindfolded. He also did the Moon Walk, but the "Moon Walk" didn't get its name after 1969 when the first astronauts landed on the moon. Michael Jackson eventually stole the Moon Walk concept dance from Chaplin and gave it its name.
He's one of the greatest film producers of all time.
Here is this site called Film 100, and Charlie Chaplin is ranked no. 3 for most influential people in the history of movies.

I love Chaplin's stuff, I've seen nearly all of his movies. City Lights was good, but I would recommend The Gold Rush or Modern Times (especially the latter)
The Gold Rush though was the origin of the super often used gag of replacing a character with a giant roast chicken, or food, when the other character is hungry. Just a fun little fact.

so he isnt the first. ha. another proof that he sucks.
I remember when i was young my family used to watch Charlie Chaplin's silent films. Unfortunately as time passed the movies' stopped being broadcast and for a while i could'nt watch any of my old favourites. However after moving to Bethel(New York) it turned out my neighbor had a projector!
Anyway, my favourite had to be "The Circus"

A troll is someone who tries to corrupt a discussion on such places like a forum, and trying to cause a bunch of flamewars.
that isnt much. people do that all the time.
Name people who do that, and provide some links to your research.
no, i think you got it wrong. charli chaplin stole the moon walk from michael jackson. that proves he has no talent.
Charlie Chaplin died before Michael Jackson got that famous, that film Modern Times, was from 1936.
so he isnt the first. ha. another proof that he sucks.
No. 100 is good enough.
