I'm sick of the stereotypes. I'm sick of the countless times people associate complainers with being emo, and emo with the act of slitting one's own wrists, or inflicting other forms of self-harm. I understand that many, if not all people who mention this on the forums aren't serious, and are making an attempt at humour. But when you tell someone to go slit their wrists, you could be indirectly influencing this person; for all you know, they are actually struggling with this as a problem in their life, and all you are doing is promoting their feelings of self-resentment.
Is that worth the joke? Do you really feel that the small amount of laughter you might recieve in return for making a self-cutting joke, is worth the possible consequences? If any of you could sincerily answer that question with a Yes, I would love to meet you with a clenched fist. Self-inflicted injury is something that almost 10% of the North American teenage population endures, and just isn't a subject that a decent person should be finding humour in.
Would you laugh at a handicap? What about someone addicted to cocaine? Because that is essentially what you are laughing at with your imensely clever jokes about wrist-cutting; an addiction, and often one that is out of the cutter's hands. Anyone who claims to know otherwise, please go educate yourself.
Cutting is not a failed suicide attempt. It is not something that people are proud of doing. And it is most definetly not something funny! Cutting is not restricted to the stereotyped depiction of emo, and the association that some of you people are intent on creating is false, and to some extent, offensive.

wtf are you talking about?
picture those ipod commercials and then picture one of a guy in a wheel chair doing one...i think it's funny.
emo...their stupid they cut their selves because they think their lives suck when actually their parents buy them anything they want and all they get in return is a crappy son who cusses at them and then dresses really stupid and cuts their self so i laugh and tell them go ahead it's not ganna help
people addicted to cocain i would laugh at to hell they wanted to be big and bad and use booger suger not me what did they think was ganna happen gum drops fall from the sky?
other than that well i can see what you say but it is really just stupid because we are making cool circles not freakin talk about cutting yourself
This is how it came out, with all filters on max. strength.
It was suppose to be a knife.
