It's not a matter of right and wrong, it's a matter of DOUCHEBAGGERY.
You have a point here, but I still don't see the "immoral" part of logging someone elses stats.
Douchebaggery... yes, that may be. If you say: "I don't like it" and someone reads it and thinks: "Hehe, I'll log his stats to piss him off and he'll never know it was ME!". Yes, that's total douchebaggery.
And that's happened to me and Bahamut and maybe others, I don't recall for sure. After discussions about such logging of our accounts in here months and months ago, more logging of our accounts happened (after it hadn't for days)... coincidence? I think not.
But still it's just some random numbers on a random website and I still fail to see how anyone can call the act of logging other users stats "immoral".
See, I'm not trying to convince people to simply don't care about it if someone logs their stats or not, I just have a problem with the choice of words here. ;)
Well, maybe you don't take screenshots very much, but even though I stopped doing daily tracking of my stats back in 2005 here on NG, I still take occasionally screenshots of my profile or postcount. But pretty rarely, actually. For big numbers (11,000 posts, 12,000 posts, etc. etc. which for me takes a long time to get from one to the other, nowadays).... what I do take screenshots of much more commonly, say once a week on average... is my 3 accounts on NG log.
If I log my data on gfox, gfoxclock, and gfoxcook, the three accounts are there together on the front page of NG log for a few minutes in the "5 recent logs" section, and I can take a simple "one size fits all" screenshot of all three at once, quickly crop it in Paintshop Pro, and save a png.
It takes less time for me to screenshot it than it does for me to deposit for all three accounts in the first place, and thus I take plenty of screenies, whenever a number or landmark catches my eye while I'm depositing and then logging my stats.
...
so, what does this have to do with other people logging our stats? If someone logged 1, 2, or all 3 of my accounts already that day, when I log my data, my account won't show up on that 5 recent logs area. You can log your data as many times in a day as you want, the most recent log is the one that stays (overwriting any previous logs for that day)... so for posterity, it doesn't matter. But for screenshots, it does. If someone logged my data before me, chances are it's already off the front page, and when you log again, it does not show up on the front page again.
Anyway, that's my main reason for not liking it.
But aside from that, there's that I have all three accounts at the same amount of logs, and if someone logs one or two of my accounts but not the third one, and say it's one of those days I forget to log at all (which does happen sometimes, even on days when I did thankfully deposit, at least)... then boom, my logging numbers are out of whack. And of course, just the whole "it's tracking my account on NG, not your account, log your own damned account, mofo, and leave mine alone" privacy issue, which I think is more Bahamut's area of protest.
Are these important things? No, but then again, are NG stats important things? Of course not. So why does anyone that gains NG stats, whether they claim to care about them or not... feel people who don't like others logging their data on NG log are... strange to not like it, eh? Just as arbitrary.
I can understand that, it's just a case of personal likings. I think it would feel weird if someone logged my stats. But on the other hand, I log them numerous times a day, just to see my progress I made so far, so I propably wouldn't even notice if someone would log them in between my logs. ^^
Well there you go. I log mine once a day only, and like I said, I want the option of taking a simple 3-pack screenshot of my 3 accounts together. We use NG log in very different ways, just be thankful that your way of using it can't be negatively impacted by silly bastards using your name on the site. #;-}>
But as I said above, I just think "immoral" is an unfortunate choice of words.
Substitute "shitty" for all previous uses of the word "immoral," then.

1) Go to exp listing page on NG log
2) Click on NG profile links of users around you that didn't log today
3) See their current exp amounts
4) ????
5) PROFIT!
Yes, but not everyone in the top 300 EXP is on NG Log and besides, constantly logging their stats will be a pain to me after a while, so I'll stick to my EXP List + Notepad method to keep track on them.
Well, if I'd felt like making a more longwinded (you mean I didn't?! (gasp)) list, I woulda added a step that if the users around you haven't logged recently or logged at ALL, then yes, go consult the most recent exp update provided by our own resident dragon. #;-}>

Oh, seems I can access NG Log again. Just clicked the wrong bookmark by accident and it worked.
Random, but cool.
Yay!

If they can incorporate more games into the medal system, it'd be super awesome to be able to log the points from that too.
ACHIEVEMENTS IS COME TO NG, eh? I remember the ol' days when there were official NG games with scoreboards, like Disorderly. That was the closest thing to this, I suppose.
Anyway, is it really just that one game by Luis that has them now?
As for logging achievement info on NG log, even if Casualty hadn't already said he doubts it'll happen, I'd just point to the fact that NG log doesn't log sticker stats, and sticker stats have been around since... what, 2003, 2004? Things like that and medals are kinda outside the "regular ol' vanilla NG stats" that most Wi/Ht?ers are statheads for. #;-}>
