I don't think the picture is photoshopped. Since there are multiple lights overhead (it is a giant stadium pretty much) light would come from many different angles. Honestly, I don't even see why this is posted here. He's just having a laugh. People joke around in photos like that all the time, but when someone in congress does it, it's somehow negative? I know everyone's taking it with a grain of salt, but the fact it even made news is pathetic.

It's the exact same thing as the whole Howard Dean debacle. He whooped at an appropriate time in his speech. He was trying to rally fervor and when he was really working up the crowd, he let out a whoop that very much resembled how people whoop at a football game when they're excited. But the media spun it to make it look like he was absolutely insane and that he was just screaming because he was a psychopath which he clearly isn't. The media likes to take little snippets of things and blow them out of proportion because, guess what, that sells. People eat this bullshit up by the gallon and the media is a business, so of course they're going to play on the sheer stupidity of their target audience: the masses.

It looks real enough to me.

We need to keep in mind that the main source of light goes straight down (because the lights are on the ceiling). Taking the 3D into account we can say that since some lights are not directly above the subject's heads, there is going to be less shadows than we would normally expect.

Then we have to account for reflected light.
Basically, we have to consider these facts;

- Shadows shouldn't cover very large areas
- Most shadows will be projected downwards
- Some shadows could be completely cancelled out sue to reflection.

I think this looks real enough.

It does make total sense. It is 2 separate pictures that were taken in quick succession. The first one showed him farther away while he wasn't quite prepared, then the second one shows him when he is closer moments later (maybe a second or two).

The movement of the man in the background is a dead giveaway.

I have to agree with Cellar on this, I don't think it's photoshopped. Guy in the back has turned his head between the two pics, shadows are consistent. Although Obamas facial expression in the same, there are some differences between the two. On the flip side, that old guys (getting punched) facial expression and even head position are identical between the two, I cut, pasted, resized and changed opacity, they match up perfectly. He is alive right?
