Hey,

I know there's been a lot of talk about NG audio portal contributors getting their music published. Well, I've just done it myself and it was pretty easy.

I just released my first CD, ''It All Has to Start Somewhere'' on Lulu.com. It's kind of like a CafePress thing (which I'm also a part of) but they focus more on books, CDs, DVDs and such. It was pretty simple to put everything together, and the CDs are actually very inexpensive to buy. I'm selling mine for $6.99 - I'm sure there are a lot of people here that wouldn't mind spending seven or so bucks on CDs from their favorite AP artists. I know I'd buy a few myself.

In my case, I redid a lot of my music and made extended remixes, etc., so I wasn't just offering the same stuff you can download for free. I think a lot of people here would like to see some more audio artists start self-publishing their own stuff! (I would also love to see more people release their Flash cartoons on DVD, but that's another topic altogether. :))

Thoughts?

I've also just started to get into making money off my music, so this has come across my mind a few times before. I just need to start making more music!

i always though getting a guitar and busking at the sea bus and selling cds there, lol i work with a printing press so making cds is easy. but making the cds is like a 17 year old thing, unless its for leisure and all you want to do all your life is wait until youre old and retired

i gots like 5000 mp3s and if i remade like 12 of them i bet i could probably get someone to personally buy them off me.

theres a publicly owned radio station here and they are very willing to play anyones music, and if i were to rant on about how corporate radio sucks id be a superstar

i know some publishers and i bet they know some like music publishers because theyre in the publishing game.

than if that can get all done i can harass cafe press without a care in the world

i bet if you can produce a cd and just get a record label to use you i bet you can get some exposure and actually make some money the next

fuck the internet there always someone there who will hate you for no reason so thats why i think standing on the street selling cds is more fun of an idea

dont forget about image

I kinda like Kunaki.com better. I would sell a cd if my music didn't suck so bad.

Hm, I have to work on my mixing a bit but it gets better and better, I'm nearly at the end phase!!! =P

Now I've also started trying out some cool effects, stabs and fill ins! (Good shit =) )

Maybe less than one year I'll have ultimate muzik power and get in a record! (I hope so!)

I released a CD on cdbaby.com and itunes. My store sold out though, and I've been kind've lazy about sending them another shipment. Here's the links if you want to check them out -

I used DiskMakers to make the physical disks, and I highly recommend them.
