Don't Escape
I'm a werewolf and it's a full moon. I have to find a way to prevent myself from escaping.

Did you play Ragnarok Online? Do you like that game?
3.54 / 5.00 13,235 ViewsSorry for the late notice to anyone in Park City, but we've decided to withdraw Castle Crashers from Slamdance, due to all the ongoing drama and a general feeling that it just isn't worth the trip at this point. The biggest bummer is that I was hoping to hang out with Luis and BoMToons, but Luis cancelled his flight already for similar reasons, so I'll just have to catch up with them later. Maybe Comic-Con in July???
The good news is that I've won back six days to WORK... YAY!
Our next official preview of Castle Crashers will be at the Independent Games Festival this March, in San Francisco.

Ahh, that's too bad. I wish you luck Tom.
:O
When is the game to be released anyway?
About to read the article now, so more time for the redesign?

I'm waiting for him to say April 1st
jk
Aw, that sucks.. for you :(
Six days of work? Layout in those days maybe?!
Good news mostly.
Too bad Tom. At least there's more work for the site and other stuff ;)

While I'm here, I would like to say an alt must be made mod for April Fools this year.
Hey with those extra days I'm hoping the site comes up faster.

Wowee! Pointless posts sure are great, huh?!!
Anyways, Tom, could you elaborate on the whole contriversy thing? I didn't really understand what it was from what I read on the site you linked... Is it something about censoring games, or not allowing violent games to be submitted or something?
From what I understand: You guys are against a competition that withdrew a game about the Columbine Massacre? Wtf is wrong with you retards? That's the most fucked up shit I've ever heard. I'm actually familiar with that game, but that doesn't make it right.
Slamdance was probably trying to NOT get a lot of negativity by taking that game out of the competition. You know, since it would offend the 98.6% of people that aren't sick, internet freaks.
Shame...still, worse things happen at sea.
Oh well. I hope that IGF thing goes well.

First post doesn't mean anything if you make it gay.
Anyway tough luck Tom, but look at the bright side. You have more time to spend with us.
when's the new layout coming out? we're dying here.
I lurk these forums like a fat kid lurks cake.
Tom, I hope you take a lot of "anti gay spray" To SAN FRANCISCO!!!!
XDeeZeroZero4Two-thousand six.
I read the link you've posted but I'm still confused with the whole situation. What I've understand there's was a withdrawel of a capture-the-flag game to protest a game not allowed in, then the game was allowed in but they still withdrew...
or something like that.
Is DanMalo still at the office? :o
Still, I hope you can meet up with BoMtoons and Luis at Comic Con. I wish I could go. :'(

I'm gonna be at the Comic-Con this year. I look forward to seeing you there.
So Tom, what's your opinion on the Super Columbine Massacre RPG fiasco?

He felt strongly enough about it to withdraw Castle Crashers from the competition, and not go. So I'm guessing it's something negative :/
The center of drama in Slamdance was from their decision to remove "Super Columbine Massacre RPG" (Often referred to as SCMRPG) from the competition shortly after declaring it a finalist. Several game developers have been withdrawing their games from the competition in protest.

I can understand that you're withdrawing from it to avoid drama. It's really, really unfortunate that Slamdance made this decision, and even more so that the contest has been screwed up because of the withdrawals. My question to you, Tom, is are you withdrawing solely to avoid the drama, or does part of you want to get involved in the protest that other game developers are showing? Having made small games of controversy yourself (and allowing the site to feed off of it), I wouldn't be surprised. It's a shame that they had to shoot down the game despite their license to create.

Man that sucks. But I guess I'll have to wait for some more previews on youtube ;)
thank you rage for clearing that up.
Wow, so there's a lot of politics involved in the game developing world, more than I ever thought...
Thx rage. The summary was really helpful.
In any event Tom, you decided what was best and I wish you good luck on your future projects.
such drama over a silly little massacre game..

Tom, what's the current thought on the sig animation? I know it's off topic, but I'm curious.
