there are some decent parodies of new game titles on here, but as tom says, "the 16 bit sprites give me a warm fuzzy feeling inside"

People prefer spoofing old school 8-bit & 16-bit games. It reminds us of a time when life was easier, people were happier, and Hulkamania was runnin' wild brother...

Besides, they're easier to spoof than most next-gen game consoles.

People parody the older games because sprites are really simple to import into flash and animate. Another part of the reason is because we grew up with them as well, so they hold that sentimental factor and stuff. =P

You can try and get Playstation 2/Gamecube/X-Crud sprites if you want, heh.

I think the main reason is because too many people are lazy to draw (Or, in my case, can draw but not animate well enough) and sprites are easy to animate.

its pretty tough to draw modern game characters. there are some but they just arent very popular or sucked and got deleted. super console wars and scw2 are good ones

Old games have more personality, so they're easier to spoof. New games are also much more serious. Back then, cross-dressing birds that spit eggs at you were normal.

You're an idiot. The parodies aren't made to demain or degenerate the characters being used. I suggest you get off your fat ass and instead of going to find some doughnuts or pork chops you find yourself a dictionary and look up the word "parody". If the characters retained their original personalities it would defeat the whole purpose of the movie being a parody, are you really that fucking inane and stupid to realize this? You've trashed both of my movies and that's fine, but your reasoning behind it is laughable cosidering you have as much skill at flash as a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.
