I got the PS2 when i was a little chap, back on Christmas 2001. It was my first (and my older brothers') first console, exept for the crappy handhelds and PC games. Me and my brothers freaked out when we got the system. My first game was Ratchet & Clank. Now me and my brothers have a large collection of 100+ games (yes, that's a lot!) that i play a lot. From Action to Shooting games to Sports to RPGs. Now I'm pretty sad that the last games are coming out, and it's fading away. In memory, I've decided to make a list of my Top 10 Best Memories/Moments of PS2 times.

10. Playing online for the first time (???)
Finally seeing other real people playing the same game was so exciting, and therefore, a blast to play.

9. Nightfire Splitscreen (007 James Bond: Nightfire)
By about last year, I was the king of Nightfire multiplay splitscreen. The charactors, the guns, the maps... all awesome.

8. Checking out the demos (???)
The demos had previews for some of the best games... Makes you want to buy them so badly.

7. Sin (Final Fantasy X)
Sin... the amazing villain Heartless of Final Fantasy 10. It's sooo giant and you feel shakey when fighting it.

6. Playing GTA (Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas)
San Andreas had the most addictive gameplay becuase of the large variety of incredable options for fun. That is the most fun PS2 game.

5. Defeating Gary (Bully)
On the very top of the building under construction... while it's very windy and raining... in the middle of the Ultimate Student Battle... You encounter Gary one-on-one. FInally beating him is incredable.

4. Final Ace Contract (Mercenaries)
After all the Deck of 54 defeats, it all comes down to this... you and the most vicious person in the world... General Song. Capture him, and $100 million is yours.

3. Free Bird (Guitar Hero 2)
Especially when played on Hard or Expert, playing the finale encore of the 80s classic smoothly makes you feel like a guitar hero... regardless of who you are.

2. Sora and Kairi seperated (Kingdom Hearts)
Sora and Kairi being seperated from the piece of land and then Sora speaking his promise... Kairi arrives back home... only to see Sora's drawing of Kairi eating the Paupa fruit so they would be with each other together forever. And Kairi's tear go down her cheek when she sees it... and adds what she needed to add, then right to the credits. Utada Hikaru's "Simple and Clean" goes perfectly with the scene. It was one of the most amazing loves I've seen in my life... and when the credits came on, I cried in happiness.

1. Beating your First Game (???)
No matter which game it was, the first game you beat will always be the best moment of your PS2. Period.

Well, farewell PS2, I will miss you. I will not sell you, I will bury you. Farewell.

i still need to beat KH2. anyways a lot of these apply to me. good list. when i get a new gen console the ps2 is going into my room.

Those are the best free roam games ever. Bully has a lot better presentation and story though.

Enjoy the console that breaks after you take it out of the box.

Also the PS2 HDD is made of fail and ghey.

the online play probably wont die for a very long time. One reason is not everyone can afford new systems. the second is that people like it so much they'll keep playing. I bet people still play starraft brood war.

People had to replace their PS2, that's why the PS2 has sold more than the X-box and the Gamecube.

Thats probably the last new game I'll buy for my PS2. I don't know if I'm going to get a PS3 they totally botched the launch in Europe and it won't be out till March

why are you getting rid of it? if it still works keep it. the ps3's backward's compatability is awful. i have played some ps2 games on the ps3 and the graphics of the games look tons better when they are played on the ps2 then on the ps3.

it is a waist to get rid of a console if it still works.
