It's now confirmed that the other word for "afro-american" is now illegal to say in norway.

This is a old guy (dead now) who writes songs(For small children), and one of them is about a
little afro-american (Don't break the law ;) ), but he uses the other word.
I didn't think of this word racistic, not even my teacher did.
WTF... .Norwegian goverment suck ftm.... :(

I don't really care.... heh.. don't use the word too much...

Fun right?

Good Day.
I said Good day.
referance to "Fez" from "That's 70's Show".

Why would anybody use the word "African-American" in a country other than America? Calling somebody such a term in Norway would be equivalent to calling a black person an "African-Norweigan" in America.

Oh, never mind, I didn't understand what you meant by "other word." Yeah, that is pretty stupid, but it's not a serious infringement on the freedom of speech. It ranks right up there with the words "under God" in the American Pledge of Allegiance.

I'd have to say it's pretty serious, depending on what the govt. does to you when you say it? And while I think it's silly to have "under God" in the pledge, I don't see how it's a violation of free speech when noone's making you say it...

At this rate it'll soon be illegal to say what race someone is, and we'll have something like a DVD-zone system for humans; "Can all zone 4's report for compulsory genetic testing.."

Didn't Norway ban "The Life of Brian" when it was released? Didn't that cause "The Life of Brian" to be promoted in Sweden as "the film that is so funny, it got banned in Norway!"?

I don't know, Norway has always hit me as being somewhat more uptight about things than the rest of Scandinavia.

They aren't uptight, they just don't want anyone to ever be offended.

And people are worried about PC culture in America........

I think that sucks hard. We're becoming so restricted on what we can do to not offend people it'll soon be illegal to scratch your nose in public.....

As if that isn't already effectively banned in America?
