Sex and Stereotypes...

Quick question concerning the sexist views of our society: Why is that when a guy talks and brags about sex and shagging as many women as possible, he is congraduated and praised by his peers. BUT when a gal talks about having sex (even if it's only with one person, as opposed to multiple), she is looked down upon and called a whore/slut/call girl??

1) Society has been typically Patriarchal (male leadership) dominated for the most part

2)typical male equates virality with power

therefore a man who "is a playa" is considered powerfull/strong/etc.

Women on the other hand were always relegated/assigned to the submissive role. With sexual virality being a DOMINANT BEHAVIOR trait women were discouraged from displaying the same behaviors as men (as befits the subordinate) ergo the truisism of a women being a slut/whore/etc. was perpetuated.

Answer is a bit more in depth than that and there are a few more reasons but THAT I feel is the primary one.

First of all, if anything our society is sexist towards men. I see alot of TV shows and commercials portiating men as midless slobs. Second of all, it is not a hard feat for a woman to have sex with alot of men, it actually is very very easy but for a man to be promiscous he has to have skill. If women still think that they are being discriminated then maybe they need to realize that they have the msot powerfull weapon on the earth, the vagina...

I second that. It's all about the man being the dominant sex. To control the women. To keep them in line. The men can do whatever they want (except for the pussy whipped ones... those are the traitors to manhood) while the women must be faithful and serve their man. Otherwise, they are worthless pieces of flesh and no sane man would even come near.

Come to think of it, that mindset is used in another area that most people I'm aware of use. And it's encouraged and widely accepted. It's called American patriotism. first of all, men can have multiple children at the same time, while a slut is just (geneticaly)wasting her time as she can only carry one.

secondly, as the idea of america applying this practice to the rest of the world, lets remember that we are actually 50 united countries called states that have limited soveriegnty. so 1 american vote should count for 50 other countries votes. the federal us government is more like the un, only with some actual balls and power over the subordinate states.

Sexism really annoys me. people are people, some women are clever, some are dumb, some males are clever, some are dumb. Some women are weak, some men are weak, u get the picture. This does not make any sex better. What i want to say is both men and women have their good and bad points, so be happy with what u are and dont moan about the other sex untill u have become one of them, and i dont think this is going to happen :S

In the end real men are never sexist, as they would rather save women and children first than to die themselves. this is why men would rather women didnt join the army, so they can protect their women.

I am a female and I asked the same thing. I have come to realize that in the end I don’t care what people have to say. Someone is always going to criticize your lifestyle. As long as you feel comfortable with yourself there shouldn't be any reason u need to feel accepted by society. The world is psychologically fucked up and has to label and stereotype everyone and everything but at the same time everyone wants to say they don't do that.
